anybody know a place to get LEDs for making those? I made my own but the LEDs i got from radioshack are dull as hell. You can barely see them even at night. Any ideas...im looking for either white or red LEDs.

I checked out a local computer store that deals with broken comps and general computer parts. $2.50 for super bright whites.

Try www.LSDiodes.com [lsdiodes.com]
I bought a couple from them for my first project, but again, it works WAY better to do it with EL Neon String. thumbsup

Do they light up at night with your regular headlights? Or do you turn everything on manually?

Really Nice, but hard to believe you opened up the housing assembly like that eek

Not sure I would do that. It's a shame Toyota didn't make it easy to disassemble.

The whole heat it up thing makes me cringe, light assembly cost $500+

the heat up preocess is really really easy. I was afraid to do it at first but you really cant mess it up. Once it heats up you canjust take the light apart...and then you just have to re-heat it to make the light go back together. It uses a little force but i was able to do it with my bare hands, and a hair-dryer.
