GT you can get KAAZ LSD (Clutch type only)
GTS you can get Quaife or TRD (Both clutch type)
TRD use to have helical LSD which is using gearing to function as LSD which do not wear out, clutch type do wear out but you can always switch new clutch for the LSD and its brand spanking new again.

So, I take it you've put one in? If so, did you do the work yourself? I am thinking of the TRD LSD, but I imagine I will need a press to get the LSD back into the tranny? BTW, has anyone seen a damn book that has instructions on how to replace shit? Like the one's you can get in AutoZone that shows how to replace about anything in your car. And yes I've checked; they do not carry one and do not know when one will be out.

Does anybody here have a LSD? I was just wondering if it was worth it. Did anybody see a big difference after installing one?

yes lsd will help a ton, i wanted to get a helical one but cant find em and they dont make em anymore. Hey with the clutch type, it wears the clutch down more??? so all you need is a new clutch and its brand new again???

Dont confuse the clutch with the lsd clutch discs. The TRD LSD uses small clutch discs in lieu of gears in order to transfer power. It works in the same way a clutch assembly would, except its within a differential case.

You got multiple clutch disc rotating at the same speed except when 1 wheel spins faster than the other one. In this case the spinning wheel (which turns faster) will wear out the diff clutch discs in order to re-balance the rotating speed.

Hope I'm making sense smile

Do not do this yourself!! Thats my recommandation, get someone who knows tranny to do this. AAMCO or Toyota Mechanic that has done this work before, do not go to any shop to do this. This is not something you would want to learn from a book, if you mess something up it is something major.
And yes I do have LSD I have Kaaz LSD because I want better distribution of power to the wheels for my turbo smile
