Does anyone know what size bolts to use to hold the license plate on? I bought the car used from a private seller back in April and he didn't have the right size bolts on there and I can't seem to find any that will fit. I've been to the dealership twice and both times they gave me the wrong size bolts. I find it funny that even the dealership doesn't know. Anyway, if any one can help it would be nice. Thanks.

You can only get the right size from the dealer and they are PLASTIC. I had them freeze in, and broke both of them off. Went everywhere looking for the right size, had to get the toyota ones. Except one side I had to drill out the old broken piece,, and now have a funky screw in there! It is frustrating!!

I fogot the exact size, but the bolts are measured in mm, not inches. i think they're either 6mm or 8mm.
Just go to home depot, they can probably find one for you.

Did anyone ever figure out where to get the right screws/bolts? Or what size, the previous owner wasn't kind enough to leave them when he came to take his plate off.

Its quite simple.

Pepboys/Autozone will sell you a pack of these for $4 to $10, which will cover your Toyota Celica and most other vehicles you might own.
