Changing your tranny won't change that.

If you want to change your tranny to a 6 speed, you need the tranny & the shifter & shift linkage out of a GTS. Will probably cost ya roughly $800 from a scrap yard.

The swap is fairly straight forward & it will improve your GT's ability to put power to the road. thumbsup More gears is always better regardless of the motor.

^^ i dont want to add hp, i just want to be able to go ' a bit faster' and i know a 5spd will allow me to do so... so hard is the change?? im guessing i need a clutch plate and a 5 spd tranny that will link up to my engine... along with an ecu reprog to tell the computer that i have a manual instead of an automatic

Auto to manual is a fair amount of work. Tranny, computer, clutch, pedal, shifter, linkage & so on.

Actually ur wrong. More gears isnt always good. The gear ratios are differnt and ur probably better with the 5 speed in the GT motor thumbsup

if you want to go faster just get a Turbo. you can jack the boost higher than a GTS motor could. the 5 spd to 6spd is different gear ratio's for different powerbands so it might hurt more than help. nitrous is also a good option:)
