I'm going to be parking the Celi for about a week in a public spot while we go rafting. I want to disable the ignition to reduce the chance of someone stealing it (I don't have time to get a kill switch installed, and wouldn't want to rely on one anyway). Does anyone know if there is a fuse I can pull to cut the power to the ignition coils, or something similar to disable the car from starting?
I'm looking at the fuse box layout in the other thread about the fuse box, and wondering if "IG2" will disable sparkplug ignition. I'm assuming "EFI" are the fuel injection fuses. Is the "ST" fuse the one for the starter?
There is a fuse you can pull to disable the ignition. I just don't know which one. It should be in the owner's manual. Just make sure to actually try to start your car once you've pulled it in case you pulled the wrong one.
Put a club on your steering wheel. That will also help.
the fuse for this is most likely in the fuse box under the hood... (if that helps) you could also dissconnect and remove the battery and place it inside ur car, or in the bushes somewhere so who ever finds ur car they cant open it, without the keys, but if they end up opening it, yes there will be no alarm...
If you have a g/f just park it at her house. Try to atleast park it at a friends house. thats much more safe. like they said. Disconnect the battery and put it inside your apartment or something so they can't find it.
pop the hood, open the fuse box on the lower right of the car..take out the big purple fuse in the bottom side of the box. this is your starter fuse...no one will be able to start the car or hotwire it.
