My steering wheel started shaking after i put on my new rims. I got my car aligned thinking that would solve the problem but it didn't. Could it be that i need to balance my wheels again even though they were supposed to be balanced before i received them? Or could it be something else that i am not aware of?

You either have a bend in at least one rim, or you have to have them balanced. You should have done that along with the alignment.

are they unidirectional meaning they can only rotate one way. if so you may have one backwardds

That won't cause them to vibrate at high speeds. That will only cause them to track oddly.

wrong had it happen

it will shake worse the faster you get felt liek it was out of balance.

Tread patterns going the wrong way does not cause shaking, but whatever. The tire was most likely low on air.
