Ok, i just moved to burbank area and i needed to change my oil. So i went to dealer at north hollywood. People were nice and everything and everything was cool. After i got my car and came home and i see smoke coming out of the engine. I looked inside and those fockers forgot to put the oil cap back on, and there was oil all over the place. So took it back and they cleaned with pressure wash.
Ok here is the problem...After washing the car, there were white residues from the oil that stuck on my strut brace engine cover and and my Intake. And it wouldn't come off just rubbing it. i have to use the rubbing compound stuff to get it off. So im taking my car back to dealer and they are suppose to clean it off. However the crap on Intake will not come off, so they probably need to replace that. Focking dealer, i hate them. ALL... What happnens if they don't do what they told me they will do? can i get something out of this?

Why are you taking your car to the dealer to have your oil changed? Why not just do it yourself?
Then you know it will be done right.

Oh.
Well, I'd file a claim with the dealership if they don't want to repair the damage.

I've learned that for the most part dealerships are no better than a trusted mechanic or any other shop. The only difference is Toyota will charge you upwards of 1.5X - 2X for the amount labor and most of the time they will come back shaking their heads and shrugging their shoulders to what happened or what could be the problem. Good luck. I would have taken the car back afterwards and complained or blew up my engine and blamed Toyota for a faulty oil change and have them replace that sucker and everything else.

The dealership is whack. They charge 100$ (the "discounted price") for stuff like fuel injection clean and transmission flush and really pressure you to have it done there. You can find hundreds of car serivce shops who will do that stuff for 50$ or less.

That's harsh! For everyone but hourly labor, most car dealerships are barely more expensive than other auto shops and usually they're the same price. I can get my oil changed at my dealership for less money than anywhere around here.

hey jae...try using "mother's metal polish" for your Intake. i know it sounds dumb but i use it on my trd exhaust tip when i can't get stuff off of it and it shines like new. if you want we can meet up you can use mine. if it doesn't work at least we tried.

if i were you jae, i'd be more concerned if it did any damage to the motor. with out the oil cap, can there be oil pressure? because without oil pressure no oil gets pumped into the engine, leading to oil starvation that can kill your engine.

i don't mean to scare you but its the truth. it doesn't matter if only a little oil came out, the point is to get the oil to the engine, if there is no pressure then no oil moves.

The cap isn't required to maintain oil pressure; the oil pump does that. As long as the oil level is maintained to within a quart of being full, it should have been OK. Bummer about the mess though.

But i don't know anything about the pressure. You should be fine, but in the upper block, there is an oil pick-up tube that picks up oil and sprays the valves and such. It all takes place right under the cap, so that's probably why you have oil everywhere. I would get this incident documented for sure by the dealership in case any engine problems occur in the near future.

i can't believe it!!! So i took my car to dealer for cleaner up. and they did pretty damn good job on it. It looks better than before now. LOL suprisingly, the Intake came out very nice. This is the only that dealer did something good.lol Service was pretty nice too! And he gave me new oil cap from TRD and he wasn't really asshole about it.
