Celica Forums General Discussion General I think I got ripped off

i went and got my car tinted today and got 20%. it doesnt look dark at all more like 35%. i'm going to compare it with my freind's S10 20% tint tomorrow. after i payed the cashier he told me it comes with a lifetime warrenty, but i wont get a reciept because they sold me illegal tint. so if i get a ticket i cant say they installed it for me. If something happends to it, how would i get the warrenty claim since i dont have a reciept to prove them i bought it there?

Yah, that sounds like a scam to me.

when i got my 15% all the way around tint done, my shop put 35% in the front and 20% in the back on my receipt!

I didn't get a receipt either...

they probably have a record of the sale on file that they can look you up. 20% should be pretty dark. I dont know why they would scam you though. Its not like the tint film cost any different anyways. When tinting you are pretty much paying for the install.

Dude! always get a reciept no matter what and get warranty on stuff you buy!...No reciept means big troubles!

I didn't get a receipt for mine since it was a cash deal, but I still got some warrenty paperwork.
