Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior still can't find perfect taillights...

i still can't find the perfect taillights for my car. if you can't see the picture...i kinda wanted to go with a black and white theme, but i don't want the black taillights, plus they look better on a black celi. i don't really want red either since my stock ones are red. and i don't think the clear ones with a black trim will look all that great either...i am so picky! here's a pic of my car for an idea...but try to imagine it with white skirts because i am painting them pleeez help because i am so frustrated!!

first off great choice of color scheme i'm black with white anyways i have an idea but involes lil work... first take a look at my sig and notice my tails ok i know their black and blend in with my color of my car ok well its faily easy to take these tail apart i.e. removing the clear plastic...then you or a bodyshop (recommended) to paint what is black on the lights the exact white used on ur car then the blend and give you new lights you have anypics of you car other than the one you have? some nice rear shots cause i can photochopp it to give you an idea

lol so many to choose from!! i like the idea of painting the inside of the light white to match my car...but do you think it will look funny and cheap? i really don't want black or black trim in the lights because those are for black cars in my opinion...hehe keep the ideas comin dudes!!

and for tail lights, go with celica2kgts' idea , paint the inside white , if done right it won't look cheap

I think it would be hard to get the light apart and then back together. better off to put white vinyl over the outside if that's the effect you want

painting them only looks cheap if you paint them from the outside

the smoked look will look awesome on a white and black scheme. it'll look like a panda bear!

not tru on my lights not sure on the others but there are bout 8-12 small screws holding it together thats it then the outer plasic comes off real easy tell you what if i have time tomorrow i'll post step by step pics of taken the lights apart plus if done right won't look cheap but very nice i think the overlay would look cheap no offese to bat but on these lights with white i think it would look odd not cheap to speak...

it's superwhite...

no prob will see what i can do hopefully tomorrow!!! also grill on the front of ur car upper or lower grill?? umm i'd keep it black if you wand the white and black sheme or if you want silver would be the only other color simply because it won't mess up a white and black scheme simply because silver(grey)is the middle of white and black!

There are a lot to choose from...but none of those look like they would match the best. I have the TYC Black Housing tails and I love them. On a white celi...the red/clear is nice...but not for your color taste. I think these tails would look really great along with your wheels and white celica.

anyone is the carbon fibre tail lights actually made with carbon fibre or some fake lookalike stuff?
