Just got a belt replaced yesterday...coincedence that my check engine light comes on today?? I have had the car for 2 years and this never happened so I have no idea wtf to do. Owner's Manual doesn't explain anything about it. I called service, they said they will hook up to machine, could take 1-3 hours. He said I will be fine driving 1-2 weeks if the car isn't idling, staling...then to bring it in. Said gasket could be loose, or a loose cap. Besides the obvious, bringing it in, should I be worried driving it? I have to drive 40 miles (round trip) for work each day. I've been to the dealer now, 3 times in the past 2 weeks

You should be alright driving around for a little bit. Most of the times its not something major, but after time not getting it checked out it will probably become major.
you really need to worry when the CEL is blinking, then you shouldnt even drive the car.
My CEL has been on and off for a sometime now. Havent had the money to fix it. But when i pulled the code, it said i had a lean malfunction so i know where to start, but for now it still idles and drives well.

CEL's aren't a big deal so long as your engine temp doesn't go up & you have lots of oil. Reset it & see if it comes back. Get the code from the dealer, it will give you an idea where to start looking.

well, I made an appointment for Tuesday, just to be on the safe side.
I am not paying for Sh*t either, considering I was just there on Thursday and not even 12 hours later, the light comes on.

well they should pay for it, considering you have done no engine work and it came on after you brought it to them so thats somewhat suspicious. You can always try to reset it, but dont be afraid to drive it

ok...
He said as long as its not making noises, I should be fine.
But I always want to be safe.
I looked under the hood and everything is on tight(caps) etc...but that doesn't mean anything
