I have trd kit (action package). and i was on the freeway and couldnt avoid this thing.. so i had to run over it and it tore off 1 of the underbody plastics that cover whatever is under the hood. So Toyota is charging 230+ for that pos. that does not sound right at all for a piece of plastic

they're expensive. your best bet is to look around for a celica at a junk yard.

Same thing happened to me...I ending just taking the remaining piece off and left it without underbody plastic because toyota quoted me at about the same price to get it fixed...dosent do any damage or had any trouble soo far (knock on wood)lol plus I have an injen SRI so it dosent really affect me either way grin

Who cares, just powerwash your engine bay. Very few cars have them anyway.

I ripped off all the cheap plastic parts from my engine and from down underneath. Too cheap looking for me... wink

those are there for a reason. i'd put them back on or get something to replace them.

I agree. Do what I did if you still have the plastic. Bolt them on with a bolt and nut or that plastic clip Toyota has. Even make more or different holes if you have to to secure them. Makes no difference and Toyota won't charge you any more if they have to remove them to get to say your transmission.

$230 sounds about right, and it will be even easier to change oil...
