The new slotted rotors and stainless steel brake lines look nice but the Performance increase is minimal. I expected this from the outset however now that I've tried them out personally, I deem it solely an appearance mod... Braking is slightly improved with this combo, however the TRD brake pads alone made more of a difference and cost a fraction of the price. Because of this, I'll be upgrading again to a TRD big brake kit shortly after I put on my new 18's in the spring. Rears will stay stock for now. Of course, if I get bored I might do the SSBC disc conversion - but only after my front bbk is on... Enjoy the Pics...

Nice car! Good job! Get rid of those potenza's. BF Goodrich's are excellent. Yokahama's are good.

^^^idk how thost rotors will do on track, but they do poorly on street.
1. doesnt improve braking power. (obviously...) 2. eats up the pads by 2 times the speed of stock rotors.
that's why i went back to stock rotors.

well slotted/cross drilled rotors aren't meant to increase braking power, only to stay cooler and retard/eliminate brake FADE. so, upgrading your brake rotors will only up the endurance of your brakes and keep them more consistent while circuit racing. I ws just hoping that the slots would at least increase bite but i guess not.

Sultan, I was going to get the same brake kit except for the TRD pads (Axxis Ultimates). I decided a while ago not to spend the $500+ on that. It was too much money for me and I would rather go the distance to a full big brake kit like TRD/Stoptech or the others (other than AEM) like you realized. My question is, didn't you have the Rotora rotors front and rear before and recently? I may be mistaken, but I'm thinking of getting those soon with the Project Mu NS brake pads that are already pretty much mine and the cost of Rotora is around or cheaper than stock which is great all around none the less. If this is you, then why did you switch over and any reason?

Sultan about the tires. I know you are a spender and Pirelli's are amazing. The PZero Nero, Rosso, or the yellow/Assimetrico are the only choices. Of course none of those choices are for year round only the Nero M+S and I don't believe it will do good in the winter like where you're located. I had The yellows before and I loved them until winter. You're best bet is to use you're old wheels for a dedicated winter tire like Nokian and get an amazing dry/wet tire for after February like Pirelli's top end, Toyo T1-S, Potenza S-03, or any high end tire by any manufacturer. Believe it or not I'm using Nitto's Neo Gen that are rated all season and are stickier than my old yellows, no pun intended and I would never use them for the winter. That's suicide.

That's suicide. never had the Rotora rotors... thought about their bbk but I decided on TRD since I can get it installed for next to nothing and it'll still be under warranty - as far as tires go -> I'll most likely swap my stock ones during the winter, as you suggested, however a good Performance tire for the summer still eludes me. Pirelli is high on my list...

Those look really good Brakes are the next thing on my list. I painted the calipers gray on my Lexus with no problem but I noticed the celica calipers are a little more complex. About how long did it take you and what kind of paint did you use?

^^^ took me about 2 hours to remove the wheels, mask everything off, clean the calipers (prep), and apply 2 coats of paint to each... then 2 hours to cure before the wheels can be reinstalled. Finally, 24 hours before it's ready to be driven - I used the G2 paint system...
