I'm sorry to see they are selling in other places and that people are caving in to hype and following each other like Lemmings. In my area, there has been 4 Tcs at the dealers since they came out, and 2 of them have sold. I haven't seen one on the road yet. I myself don't like the looks, but thats my opinion. But I think they are HIGHLY overrated and overhyped. Just my .02

none here either. only seen one xB (hmmm... x - B? B-o-x maybe?), but that was like 20 mins away from my house. My school, however, has a nice collection of my GT, a GTS, 2 6th gens and a 5th gen.

there is a cheerleader at my school that has one. they're pretty cool. the more i look at it the more i notice.

i've also driven one. they've got great pickup, more space than i thought, and it handles pretty well for all that weight. not to mention it comes with all the scion goodies, now who does'nt want those?

you also have to take in the value factor. this the hyundai accel of sports cars: good price, practicality, cheapest in its class, etc.
i give it thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup of thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup

That white celica a few post up looks amazing. The tC isn't that bad, but the front is too boxy. The profile and interior is nice. It's definately the best car in its price range.

the only one i have seen in person was at a gas station in denver some young chick just got it (had temp tags) when she left she took off all fast from the gas pump and scrapped the side of her car on those huge red concrete things that keep people from hitting the gas pumps. Needless to say the whole side of her car go messed up.

tC is definetely a good car. its not as sporty as the celica. best way to explain the tC is g35-ish. it has that bit of sporty look, its sport-luxury. for the price you pay for a tC, i would expect a lot of people buying tCs rather than honda civics. a definite improvement by scion and it will definetely be a success selling that car. they are like hot cakes. its not too sporty, not meant to be for young, and its not luxury sedan, not meant for old people. so everyone will buy them. i bet tC is gonna be in the first three top sellers cars in toyota/lexus/scion lineup. IF this car is a replacement for the celica, i suggest toyota will try its best to get this car some respect and aftermarket parts, and the 2nd generation tC would be sportier with a unique engine, not just a camry engine.

Scion is selling the ILLUSION of Performance under the guise of overpriced-dealer-installed-psuedo-performance-copy-cat-bolt-ons in the name of individuality. By the time you add on a few "goodies" you are in a whole different price game. And they're still ugly. The tC may be the replacement for the Celica, but it has nothing in common with the Celica. It doesn't even "look fast". How can it be called a "good car" when it is still so new to the market. I fail to see the Luxury in the plastic trim interior pieces. Toyota WILL support the car with aftermarket parts, but you're gonna pay out the ass for them. I'm sorry, I just can't get over how gullible most people are.

find me a 2.4L car with 160 hp and 163lbs of tq that has standard:

-17s wrapped in bridgestone potenzas
-with CD/Mp3 6 speaker stero
-moon roof
-ABS with all around disc brakes
-ind. rear wheel sus.

for $16.5K?

it's obviously not a celica. but there was never any statement from toyota OR scion that it ever was a replacement to the celica. that rumor was started by car mags and internet posters.

plus the 2AZ-FE is a reliable engine that the camry and solora have proved time and time again.

you basically get a lot for what you paid for.

as far as Performance...stock their decent...but with their low compression they are begging to be boosted. and with it's smooth power curve at stock form, i don't think you want to run into those blower equiped tc's..

my friend just got one, it looks real good, especially with the bluebatmobile overlays we put on it. it picks up speed pretty good, and its pretty damn roomy in the car, even in the back. i think its an unbelievable value for what it costs

is it true that the tC has a camry engine in it?

well then, i dont see the tC as a replacement for the Celica, rather i see it as the sports verion of the Camry. who knows, tC could stand for toyotaCamry spineyes

food for thought. thumbsup

The TC is totally overated and the stupid dearler rip you off so bad, the TC starts at $16500 but they charge on so much other crap its hard to find one thats not over $18000. I got to test drive the first Tc at my local Toy dealer, it had 5 miles on it, the dealer guy was totalling try to hype it up with all the optional blah blah blah, but when I asked him on Performance issues he just went blank and didn't know a thing. The car looks nice, decent handling and the torquier 2.4 Camry engine gives it some kick for a light car, but it still doesn't come close to the Performance of the GTS.
