This may sound cheap, but has anyone ever tried to use something else in the place of dynamat?
I just need to solve road noise problems, I don't have a system.

^^ what kind of road noise problems? if it's rattling you can solve that by tightening several things.
if it's 'road noise' then you can only fix that through a sound deadener such as fatmat or dynamat...that's just what we get for buying toyotas instead of bmw's.

use peel and seal they have it at most hardware stores in the roofing department or you can use carpet padding for the floors. just stick it under your carpet.
