Quick story. I was driving down the 10 fwy in L.A and it was about 5am and kinda dark. IM on the fast lane and I don't really like to speed so I keep it at about 65 and then was like 70. I didn't realize it but then I saw this car starting to tailgate me and I saw it was a new camaro. I got scared because he didn't change lanes to pass me and started to go like 80 trying to get away. Then all of a sudden I see the lights go off. I was like WTF???? A camaro stopping me. Well I told the officer that I was scared that I thoght it was somebody trying to hit me from behind and that is why I sped up. He didn't give a shit, he just wanted to give me a ticke. I am prepared to use a recorder next time just incase something stupid happens. With all this lawsuits against cops and the LAPD, I would think they would be more careful, but If I ever have to file a suit just to get my point across, I would. Fucken COPS and their BS.

dude my first ticket i got pulled over by 4 fucking cops because people with modified cars tend to run from cops... the car that pulled me over was a camero... and i knew about them they have been out for a year and a half now... so why did you speed up again ... they can move their asses over to the fast lane if they want to pass me lol if i'm in the right lane i don't move... unless i am in the fast lane then i move over and let them by... so um.. next time let them pass you... don't speed up because your not going to out run those camero's.. their 8 cylinders

there were hardly any cars on the freeway. I deserve the ticket for speeding but Just because Im on the fast lane doesnt mean I have to go over 65mph Im staying my ground and if the person doesnt want to change lanes and starts tailgaiting me, then Im hitting my brakes

how old r u??? not trying to be mean or anything but it sound like you in your 60+++ thats how most old driver is.. 65 on fast lane. late 20s. And the fast lane doesn't mean go go over 65. 65 is the limit and 65 I'll stay. After my speeding ticked, don't want to speed no more, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be driving in the fast lane. 65 in the fast lane 65 in the slow lane 65.

After my speeding ticked, don't want to speed no more, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be driving in the fast lane. 65 in the fast lane 65 in the slow lane 65. No. They call it the fast lane for a reason. If you're not gonna go fast then you better get out of it. Ideally you have the rightmost lane the slowest and the leftmost the fastest, and the lanes in between gradually change speeds towards one of the extremes. If I'm in the left lane behind an idiot going 65, trying to pass him through the center lane puts me in a lane that goes 70-75 miles per hour. There's also people merging onto the freeway that want to speed up, and other people who need to get out of the way. It's not safe. I absolutely hate passing on the right, but unfortunately it's necessary. It's a well known fact that rarely does anyone follow the speed limit in the fast lane. That's reality. If you want to go the speed limit you should stay to the right. If you want to start talking about obeying posted signs, I recommend you follow the sign that says "Slower traffic stays right."

ya good word on that subject lol... i hate people who on roads where the speedlimit is 55 and do 55 in the fast lanes then you get a wall of traffic and can't pass them GOD DAMN THAT'S ANNOYING! but then you start creeping up on the far left ones and they move out of your way

Yeah, my problem, plus the problem of the 20 other cars that are either behind me or in other lanes that will be made unsafe by passing on the right.
In Europe they are very particular about it, you never pass on the right, you wait for the guy in front of you to move. If he doesn't move, you start giving him signals (headlights on during daytime for example, left blinker if you want to be slightly rude) but you don't pass on the right.
I don't know how many times I've seen a slow car in the center lane, and everyone passes him both left and right, and then want to get back in the center lane at the same time. If everyone would've passed on the left it wouldn't be a problem.
By driving slow in the left lane, you are creating a hazard not only for yourself, but for your fellow drivers. I have no problem with people who want to take it easy on the freeways, I only ask that they do it in the appropriate lane that the law has spelled out for them.
If I'm going 75 and you're going 65, you are slower traffic. You need to be on the right lane. End of story.

Whatevers man, if your in a hurry, thats your problem, not mine. Sorry but it's people like you why accidents occur. People that drive with their heads up their asses only caring about themselves. It is very dangerous to try and pass someone on the right, when if you're not passing anyone you should get over. If everyone would follow the rules of the road and drive safely we could have 80, 85 or even no speed limit. Problem is too many morons are out and about and not knowing how to drive. I hope you get another ticket for driving in the left lane doing 65 and forcing people to pass you on the right. Notice all the signs that say stay right unless passing.

^^^^ True, true The fast lane is the unwritten rule, If you're going 65 in the left lane you can just as easily do it in one of the other lanes. There's no reason to block people off because you don't like the speed they're going. In Germany they don't take any of that crap, you ONLY get in the LEFT LANE if you are PASSING.

4th amendment right dude. You didn't HAVE to pop the hood. Most people dont know that and get intimidated by the "Cops"... but you have rights. 4th amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects citizens from unwarranted search and seizures. Unless something is in PLAIN view, such as the lowering of your car, a crackpipe on the dash, the cop does not have probable cause. He can ASK you to pop the hood, but tell him you take the 4th on that one. He cant just make you stay there and check off all the illegal violations and KEEP YOU THERE, if all he did was pull you over for speeding int he first place. If he MAKES you pop it, fight it in court and get some evidence.

I like that 4th ammendment thing. But around here it doesn't matter. a cop will tell you to get out of your car & then tell you to shut the fuck up while he searches your car & even plant something on you. Happens all the time.

In San Jose CA, I have been informed that if a cop is giving you shit for something stupid (I mean something really stupid something that he has no right to question not something that is just a stupid law such as tint) ask for his badge number and file a complaint against him. I heard a few cops have had complaints filed against them and they dropped entire tickets for it. They can get in a lot of trouble because of a single complaint. Might be worth trying in other areas where a cop is being an ass. I got this info from a SJ police officer, he said he hates it when he gets a complaint big trouble for them.
oh yeah and asking a cop for his/her badge number will piss them off so do so at own risk.

Yeah, you can piss a cop off pretty quick by asking for their badge number, but it's your right to do so, and they know that if something doesn't go right you'll be reporting it to their superiors.
Best way to deal with someone having a power trip is to remind them that someone will hold them responsible for what they'll do.

I was a Deputy Sheriff here in Arkansas for 3 years. I could do a full vehical inspection like the stations do without concent. I never wrote a speeding ticket. Wreckless driving or DUI, if it was a kid, just had the parents come and pick up them and the car.
The guys shooting radar doesn't know how to be a real cop, or is making a quota. That's why they are shooting RADAR! If he doesn't have a quota, he doesn't need to run RADAR if it's not manditory. Real police work / investigation and public protection involves reasoning, not circuitry.
FYI to be certified to operate a RADAR gun, they must be able to guess the vehical speed within 5 Mph. Check to be sure their certification has not lapsed. If it has any judge will throw it out.
If you do get a ticket ask for probation. you will be required to go to a defencive driving school. if you can go without another ticket for 6 months there will be no record of the incident.
Even though I'm not a cop any more, I make a point to meet all officers in my area on their time, on duity. they get to know me (and my car). and if they are a real ass you find it out on better terms!
