Currently Im installing my amp. I removed to glove compartment to get to the factory amp. I was curious and imagining how dirty my cabin air filter was going to be. I pulled the dam thing out and guess what...I said "what the f@#k!!!!!" I cant belive, the cabin air filter is just plastic. It was missing the sponge of paper that traps the dirt. This is bs. Check your cabin air filter. I want to know if I am the only one. I will contact Toyota Carlsbad about this. angry

All 7th gen Celica come with an air filter holder behind the glove box but early models (2000-2003) do NOT have a filter installed in it

Its something you can install after you purchase it, like an air freshener or a car cover. tongue

Toyota dealerships and Toyota repair centers began selling their OEM cabin air filter for about $65 - $80 around 2003. You could purchase an aftermarket filter for about $25 at that time, or make your own for about $15 for four.

EDIT1
Around 2008, you can find aftermarket cabin air filters for about $15 from Pep Boys, Autozone, and other auto part shops.

EDIT2
Around 2014, you can find them for about $10 at those same auto part retailers, along with Amazon and Walmart centers.

It was never there your cool. Grab a 3M furnace filter and make your own smile

Or take a bottle of lube to the Stealership and ask them for a filter.. then when they spin you around and bend you over hand them the lube... it hurts less Im told rofl rofl

I bought mine in 04 brand new. It now has 182,000 mikes thought it might be time to replace that filter. Nothing there. Just a frame!! But I’m not surprised. Mine came with the wrong struts to hold up my hatch. It has a tail fin and needed and extra large to keep it from hitting you in the head In a year. And yeah I went back and had to get Toyota to force the dealership to put on the correct struts. Those front rotors had to be turned in 6 months too. I recommend frozen rotors.
