your comparing a celica to the evo8? thats crazy. the evo is gonna be the better of the two, just because its Turbocharged. take away the Turbo and you get a faster Lancer. you cant compare Lift with Turbo. Turbo owns. but lift is the best thing...until you can Turbo charge a 2ZZ, then lift-and-turbo will be the best thing.

the lift hits ur more in the celica than rsx vtec because the powerband right before lift is a huge hole then it jumps up, that is why if you dont land lift on ur shifts u'll land in the hole and it slows you way down

When we were driving on the freeway in her car, and she kept hitting lift, she said, "this is better than sex!" So I thought to myself...hmmm, maybe we should see if it's better.

LOL! I'm not quite sure what the hell is up with the huge hype involved with lift. It's cool, but nothing that special. Test drive an EVO, when the Turbo boots you into the seat, lift is a thing of the past. this is very true, but hey wtf we are not all rich, and we cant afford one, and im sure we all love our celicas, so a Turbo boost for the evo lovers is like lift to us, Not rich??? C'mon. That's ridiculous. A seventh gen celica always costs more than 10 grand. GTS, so we can talk lift here. I'm going to confidently say that pretty much anyone with a celica comes from a middle class family. If you claim you're too poor to afford a Turbo, get a frickin job. If you say you spooge when you hit lift, you're gonna have an orgasm of death when you experience the 15psi boost from STi or a vette on takeoff. Not to rip on lift, but seriously...be realistic. Sorry, I don't mean to sound like an ass.

Lift + Turbo = no-no...i know i don't own a Turboed 2zz but i read quite a few things about it and i hear a lot about it from the pros... bottom line is vtec(lift) n Turbo don't work. sumthin about lift engagement cancelling out the Turbo spool er suttin..just ask sum1 w/ a 2z Turboed.. they'll explain why ya hafta tune it w/ a power fc. also, w/ a Turbo forcing compressed air into your high revving vtec engine, there is a possibility you can retard the strokes in your engine. so you have air coming in w/ already compressed air not ready for exit yet. n that's how you "blow" ur engine. so u'll hafta get lower compression pistons, rods and basically cancel out the lift. but you are right that Turbo owns all.

The first thing I thought when I drove a 6SPD GTS was only if this thing had that kind of power all the way up. You shouldn't have to rev the piss out of a motor to get it to make horsepower. Dammit, they should have built it as a 2.2L motor with VVTi-L.

^^Why are you saying an EVO?? I don't have one. I just test drove one for fun. That's totally irrelevant. I'm just saying that a Turbo much more superior to lift.
