If its Turbo engine (engine that was designed to work with Turbo its all good) If you boost it of course it will fuck up the engine.

Don't have 2jz here, but I do have 3sgte It's reliable as long as - you take care of it well - you don't mod it or - you mod it and you know what you are doing + you do it right way. I know tons of people with Turbo engine who have passed 100k. Beleive it or not, things that always go first are not engine itself. 2JZGTE and 3sgte are pretty much undestructable. Tranny are pretty strong too. Stock clutch is weak though (if you launch it hard)

the 2jz-gte engine is one of the most reliable engines ever built if properly maintained...if you are looking to ask questions by the serious supra experts check out i-supra.com...that is the forum for any question you will ever have on any part of or for that car

The stock Turbo's are reliable but however they will eventually die on you. ofcourse the better you take care of it the better it will last. So make sure you set your Turbo timer for atleast 30 seconds and dont be boosting to much with stocks. However this probally doesnt matter b/c you'll probally have a single Turbo installed anyway right??? I never seen anyone blow their motor with stock twins. however there are multiple times when ii see people with singles do.The tranny is acutally pretty good for manuals but for auto's, 500hp is pretty much the limit. If you thinking about getting a supra, make sure you gots $$$$ b/c the car is pretty high maintanece.

yeah, the supra is a high maintenance car, but so are most Turbo vehicles. the Getrag 6 speed is pretty much unbreakable...and the boost limit on the stock twins is 18psi with a greddy boost cut controller. the stock boost fuel cut is like 12 psi I think...the cars are amazing...and yes, set the Turbo timer to like a minute or so so that the Turbo oil has time to cool.

ok that is the deal. I'm planning on getting a supra it would be either br a 93 or a 95 with 70k miles, the stock twin Turbo supra. If i do not do any other engine mods to it how reliable will it be with just the stock twin Turbo? I'm just wondering if the car has some real known problems or not .

But I really doubt that you will not mod it When you have a Turbo car, it is very tempted to put a boost controller there. Like people say, "another 50 hp is just a $30 MBC away"

you might be right but when you have a 320hp stock with such a fast car why would you want to mod it even more? well i mean engine wise?

some people want to bring out the best of the Supras engine power. I'd most likely upgrade the engine to its fullest (doing so in a proper manner) and keep the exterior appearance stock. sleeperzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see you keep it stock though. Stock Supra in good condition is pretty rare these days and more desirable than the modded one.

check out i-supra.com they are the forum for supra related questions...and if you are iffy as to how strong the engine is going to be, then get a compression test done prior to signing the final dotted line...if its above 155 on the compression meter then you are good, and the engine is still a monster
