Just wanted to put this out there, post your stories of you doing something you can't believe you did later. Here's mine:

When I was 16 I got a new head unit for my car. Well I knew a thing or two about wiring from working construction with my friends dad. What I didn't know was cars have wire harnesses. So here's where I have my momentary lapse of common sense. I got the Scissors out of our junk drawer and cut all the wires from the car to the stock radio. Not only is this bad, but I never disconnected the battery, so I shorted out everything in my car. After a couple of weeks of reconnecting wires, and replacing fuses I finally got the new head unit working, but I don't think the car's computer was ever the same again. This is one of those days I wish I could go back to and just slap myself. slap

OK your turn...

ooh ooh, stupidest thing i've done.

i was racing against my friend's b16 civic and my teammate on the I-5 south freeway.

my teammate's accord was last and our friend in the civic was a head of me by just a few feet.

so i tapped into 4th gear and took the mid-emergency lane. i saw something up ahead, it wasnt that big, but wasnt that small neither. it was wrapped in a white blanket, i think it was a dog or something, well i ran over it.

omg i was scared. when i got home i checked out the damage.
my stock front lip was broken and there was a lot of blood on it.

illegal street/hwy racing is bad

1) Going 120 mph on snow covered road.
2) Run away from cops, they didn't catch me though.

Drove 8 hours to a car show in AZ, arrived at location, cleaned, prepped vehicle, took off my liscense plate, left car at location. After the show realized when I got home I had no liscense plate on. Got lucky but lesson learned never again!!!

Scary ohboy

So-so on the stupid scale.

One day I was in a parking lot and I was only doing about 60km/h or so and it was a hot and dry day so I turned sharp and the wheels squealed loud.. no biggy, it was cool.

Tried the same thing again a few days later in the vening in a differant parking lot, but I didn't realize the lot was quite uneven and had bumps almost twice the size of a regular speed bump that were the same tone as the parking lot and while I was turning sharp I went over one of the big bumps and it felt like one of the wheels lifted up.. scared me, and I haven't done that since.

installing fender flares. Cost 600 to install and 1500 to remove, fix and fill in the holes

I give myself a big slap on the head every time I think about it

I wrapped my Toyota Tercel around a telephone pole. I ran my SR-5 into a ditch bending the frame and wrecking the transmission. I ran my Excel of the road into a ladies front yard puncturing all 4 tires and wrecking that suspension. I took a 180% turn at 80 MPH in the rain in my 88 VW Golf. I've gone one way roads just for shits an giggles and blowing red lights left and right. I had my 2000 Celica drifting sideways right and left to avoid dying. How's that for a start that I'm not proud of, but makes for a great stories that are all true. Ever hear how I raced a cop?

Went to the gas station, cleaned my rear window while pumping gas, and forgot to put down the wiper. Drove halfway across town like that on 2 occasions, and I still haven't learned...

Got drunk & spun my Oldsmobile into a rock cut at 100MPH. Not a swift move. Luckily I lived to tell about it.

Oh god, were do I begin. I'll just go with getting drunk and driving back from a party, all the way through town, running over every stop sign i could find, and then doing hot laps around my house busting through 4 foot tall snow drifts until the car died. All in a 95 buick LaSabre. Smart, huh.
