Celica Forums General Discussion General this is what street racing on a 2 lane road does...

Friday night i was coming back to a friends house going 54 miles an hour in a 55 when i come around a turn and there are 2 sets of headlights coming at me...both on both sides of the road.. i go into the ditch so that i wont have a head on collision. After the cars pass me i go to get back on the road (still going about 50) when the ditch dropps off. the car started into a spin, hit the embankment on the otherside flipped over and landed on its wheels.. this is my 2001 toyota celica gts. 2 cars were street racing up the road and neither of them stopped. This is what happens. Two idiots fucking around caused this- 5 pics wait till all are loaded please...

anyway that looks just sick. i dont know how else to say it. is insurance going to cover your repair costs? it looks major--judging by the exterior.

it is a gts right? i'm willing to buy the engine (i just recetly blew my engine last week) provided it is still intact.

if its going to a junkyard could you do me a favor and find out which one? if i can have a # that would be even better...there are no celicas in junkyards around here...and definately no gts' to speak of.

i wont its okay- i dont think im going to get another celica probally a wrx... celica did nothing but get me into trouble... i love that car it was MY BABY! but i cant get another- i feel as if i would be betraying my old car. it got me into so much trouble... and i loved it soooo much but its totalled now. because of some street racers

my coworker has a similar story
his car flipped over - he said the best decription he can give of the feeling was everything seemed to be in slow motion and next thing you know, you've got cuts and bruises

Yeah, glad that your ok, thats what matters most, you know its one thing for people to race on the road, granted, ive had my share of races, not alot, but a few, but never would i be stupid enough to race at night, thats one thing i havent done yet, because i cant get a good visual of my surrondings, and two, never would i race on a twisty road, 2 lane by the way, day or night, but especially at night, that just has stupid written all over it!!

yea they were pretty dumb but i mean its over now... i just wish that it hadnt of been totaled... the pictures dont even do it justice on how bad it is... for the pics i took the front bumper and laid it on straight...

Cars definitely repairable...but if the insurance is going to replace it even better.

I was convinced mine was written off, but they repaired it. 2 months later though and it still ain't back!!!!
