A few of you have done custom Turbo set ups for quite a bit of money...I think Mike Lu probably spent over $5000...

Custom turbos require you to revamp much of the fuel system...new fuel pump, return fuel line, ect. Plus you need a $1000 piece of electronic to calibrate the fuel/air ratio.

What about a custom made supercharger? I heard an ad on the radio this morning about a new shop in town and they mentioned they can "custom turbo or supercharge jsut about anything". It might not add over 100 HP, but would it be much cheaper?

I never heard about anyone considering anything like this. If it cost the same as a turbo, I'd take the turbo anyday, but if it was much, much cheaper, I'd be interested.

Doesn't sound like a bad idea, look into it and post results.

Right, Blitz is expensive...and does ANYONE have one? Is it out? I've heard about it plenty, but never heard of anybody owning one.

Speak to Simon from www.celica-club.co.uk [celica-club.co.uk] about superchargers

He has one in his GT.
Think he has at least 100hp increase.

Link below is to pics of his rebuilt engine:

your getting hella good stuff..of course its gonna be hella expensive.. but you gotta remember if your turbo or sc a celica gts, you cant boost as high if you had a celica gt. compression is too high unless you lower your compression..

hate to say it but you do need same exact management setup as me to supercharge, so thats $1,000 that can not be avoided. CelicaUK can back me up on this one, he is searching for cheap alternative source to do this and $1,000 is the cheapest any of us can find. Other setup cost $2000~$6000 installed and tuned.
To be able to run with more HP you will need more air AND more fuel so that fuel system can not be avoided. If you want to boost alittle like Blitz you do not need full fuel system only need bigger injectors, but then you are only gaining 40HP for $6,000 not much bang for the buck.

Yes you are getting high quality stuff, everything is thought of for the vehicle mechanical safty. Just too bad do not get that much HP which kinda suck... Should allow people to up the boost (offer different pulleys setup to up the boost) if the customer built up his/her engine, but sadly they do not and probably will never come put with it.
