i just wanted to post this to get some input on the new supercharger, and i was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what the retail cost would be?

"I emailed the help line on the TRD website about their supercharger for the 1.8 here is what I got back:

At this time the supercharger for the 1zz engine will only be available for
the 03 Matrix and 03 Corolla. There are several factors that interfere with
the installation on the Celica GT, one being the clearence issue with the
hood. From our testing you would have to cut a 13" by 15" hole in the hood
to beable to fit the supercharger. By altering the hood it actually makes
your vehicle out of warranty with Toyota since you are altering a DOT
approved hood. This is the reason why we can not release it for the Celica
at this time. Please try back around September or October and see where we
are at on this.

yeah, i think i saw the trd superchrger in import tuner or something and it said for the corolla and matrix

but you never know they may make one for the celi...maybe it will come with a diffrent hood, for it to accomodate the supercharger...it'll probably cost an arm and a leg...and maybe a head and a foot too...lol

we always get screwed wtf you gonna do with a supercharger in a corolla or a matrix our cars are perfect for it damn it... i mean performance wise... stupid hood... well i say someone should make a custom hood to fit that and make $$ from everyone here heh quick way to get rich if you ask me.

who in the F_CK would buy a Matrix(ugly) or a Corolla (moms car) to put a SC in it? Come on now that's a freaken joke! There's only 2 Toyota's worth putting a SC into and that's the MR2 and the Celica GT\GTS. I think TRD's a bunch of lazy MF that don't want to make money, if they would just get off there A_S and make a SC that would fit our GT and GTS, they would be making duckettes

those trd engineers probably looked at our engine bays and said "holy crap! there's no room in there...hmmmm what could we put in there...hmmmm...i know! an official TRD oil cap!"...there just isn't any room for anything under our hoods for a SC

thr GTS is 1.8 right? It won't fit that I bet though...because of the compression ratio.
I bet it is a 1zz supercharger like street said.

You know those TRD oil caps will give you an additonal 500 HP and 750 TQ

Supercharger for the celica...when is it coming out?? I've heard of a Blitz supercharger for the celica but never any other brand...TRD is finally getting smart

It does fit all 1.8 liter engine (Corolla and matrix) It Does NOT fit the celica due to a hood clearence problem. But TRD is coming out with a celica version in the near furture.

that would make sense, all they seem to have is excuses when it comes to the Celica...so weak dudes

ya its so true i wonder why that is?? are they just that jealous of teenagers buying the celica's so much that they decided to cut us off right at the source (aftermarket parts) great way to run a business and make profit.

if you ask me, they should have had this sort of thing in mind when they were designing the celica so it would make for adding aftermarket parts such as this supercharger easier.

how do you know they are comming up with one for the celica? in about a year an a half our model will be replaced by the 8th gen...

Uou would need to do 2 things to make this SC work in the celica...

1: needs a new manifold, if it had one made for the celica so it fits under the hood right, it would be all good. It'd work on the GTS as well, but you'd have to either lower the compression of the engine, or run a smaller pulley on the SC (less boost). You could also make a fiberglass or Carbon Fiber hood that accomidates the SC. Perhaps if you add a cowl to the hood.

2: Fuel management. it comes with an ecu that'll work with manual GT's, anything else, you'll need to reprogram the ECU, that includes all GTS.

The Blitz also only works w/manual tranny cars too. (Auto & Manual use different ECU's)

Give toyota some time, they're working on it.

This is the number one reason I'm not gona do any mods to this Awesome Car!!But due to fricken companies that have more parts for a honda and other cars, and actually seeing Toyota not caring to make more parts to make our cars a little more enjoyable. Really pisses me off!!I was gona invest a lot of money on this great car but jeez, oh well I'm just gona invested all on the New Celica.(Sry guys justing letting it all out, an the truth too!)(Don't get me wrong I love this car, ever since I bought it I just get enough of if it) I hate it and I love it at the same time!!LMAOL!!
