No,its a turbo kit,but not made by TRD. Was being developed by a guy who used to work at West Covina, but last I heard they still hadn't been shipped.

Like they said thats the DA turbo. TRD doesn't make a turbo kit for the celica. With the SF kit you wont have water going in your intake. The intake sits up by where the stock air box was so unless you plan on submersing your celica like a submarine then you wont be getting any hydrolock. Definately do some research and then buy SF thumbsup

Heres what it says, so everyone STFU!!!

1ZZ-FE Turbocharger Kit

The turbocharger kit for the 98-current Corolla, 00-current MR-S/MR2 Spyder, and 00-current Celica GT has been in development for several months now, although a few setbacks have been encountered.

The following are the preliminary output specifications, components, and special provisions that will come from the kit:

Components:

Borg Warner K04 Turbocharger
Spearco Intercooler (6.25" x 9" core standard, 9" x 13" core optional)
321 Stainless Steel Manifold
310cc or 390cc fuel injectors
OEM Toyota oil pan with return line fitting
Timing/Fuel/Diagnostic-Suppression ECU
Automatic Transmission "quick shift" ECU
All necessary fittings, hoses, clamps, and fuel delivery pieces

Special Provisions:

The intercooler options are both good to over 350 horsepower, allowing upgrade of the turbo and manifold without having to change the entire system.
Nitrous Oxide delivery ports would be built into the intercooler intake pipe and throttle body intake pipes, easing the installation of a Nitrous Oxide System to either freeze the intake charge at the intercooler, or deliver Nitrous Oxide into the intake of the engine.

Estimated Performance Specifications:

235 hp / 195 lb.ft. @ 6 psi (flywheel)

236 hp / 202 lb.ft. @ 8 psi (drive wheels, Feb 00 Sport Compact Car Magazine)
259 hp / 240 lb.ft. @ 12 psi (drive wheels, Feb 00 Sport Compact Car Magazine)

Kit is set to be released at 6 psi, although a higher rating may be chosen if desired output is not attained.

I don't see your point, it's still not a TRD turbo kit if that's what you're trying to say. Just cause it's sold on a site that sells TRD parts, doesn't make it TRD. If I misunderstood you, I'm sorry. Like someone already pointed it out, it's a DA Sport Turbo Kit. Nothing special, not a lot of people have it cause...it hasn't proven much.

if this kit is true? then why does TRD make this kit and no Transmission support? cause the should know people will try and up the boost and they should know that the Celica Tranny's can't hold over 250ft-lbs of tq

One last time. It's not a TRD turbo. It is a very old write up of the DA Sports Turbo. It was being made buy a guy who worked for Claremont Toyota. It actually doesn't even look like that anymore. There were a lot of design changes between then and now. He had a lot of backing in the begginning by lots of different companies and then they dropped out so he finished the project on his own. Thats why the project took way longer than expected to finish and people were waiting for kits over a year after they paid. Not to mention all kinds of setbacks. I know, because i was one of the people waiting a year after i paid. I hear that now most or at least some of the kits have shipped. However i have no clue how the final product turned out. I decided to get my refund and go with the SF turbo and im extremely happy with my decision.

Stafford fabrication and C2 Design make complete turbo kits.
They run about $3500. The stafford gives you about 240whp. Not sure about the C2 though. But they are about the same price.

XS, SF and C2 all make turbo kits for the GTS. I would stay away from XS, their kits are crap. The other two are relatively similar in price(mid $3k range) and performance. The only supercharger for a GTS is the Blitz supercharger. It costs quite a bit more like $6k.

As someone else said ... there is NO turbocharger kit for the Celica's ... Only a Supercharger kit which only give's ya 35 more hp & 20 some odd f/lb. tourque if I remember the spec's correctly ...

Maybe the turbocharger kit is actualy for the Scion TC coupe as they said they would release then .. but the scion's engine is no where close to a 7th gen celica's ...

There IS a TRD supercharger modded Celica GT out there thought .. but it's a mod car ... was on 1 of the car & driver episodes ... weight reduction & the supercharged GT engine produces 160 hp.

The TRD supercharger is for the corolla and matrix, but can be used on the celica GT. You just need a special hood for clearance issues and you need some sort of fuel management. The fuel management TRD uses for the corolla and matrix doesn't work with the celica. Supposedly TRD is looking for a solution to that problem but i wouldnt hold my breathe. Basically the supercharger is relatively inexpensive but after you buy the hood and get some sort of fuel management to work, its now more than a turbo kit. Yes you would be looking at around 160 whp. To me its not worth it.

Oh and for those that are still confused as to whats out for what car i will make a list

Turbos for GT
1. SF
2. C2
3. DA

Superchargers for GT
1. TRD(Need special hood and some sort of fuel management).

Turbos for GTS
1. SF
2. C2
3. XS

Superchargers for GTS
1. Blitz
There are other small name company turbos out there, but hardly anyone has them or knows the quality of them so i will stick to these main ones.

hahahahahahahahahahaha, you guys really shouldn't mess with noobs like that because they may just break things not realizing you guys are just messing around, he seriously thought you guys were telling the truth.
For your info TRDOTC you don't need a header for a turbo, it should come with an exhuast manifold in the kit.
Get a boost controller and make sure you are only boost about 6-8 psi, so you don't blow your motor, and never ever put in cheap gas, you might also want to invest in a Air/fuel meter and fuel pump. And don't buy APC performance products, they are cheap for a reason.

So what's up with is TRD kit, I've never even heard of it. Is it supposed to be an aftermarket kit or a dealer kit, and I'm guessing it's not a turbo but a supercharger kit, as Toyota only make superchargers for their cars.
