For those who have conversion kits what kind do you have and what quality can I expect? I am currently in the market for one. I used to have a mchulough kit wich was offered through this site but unfortunately it was expensive and it burned out my stock harnesses... please post up some recomendations. Also I want bright blue M5 style Thanks

m5 style.. well sorry to break it to you.. but.. the color from the m5 and others that come stock with hid is due to the projector/shield .. all they are is still 4100-4300k color temp.. here read Tony's post/reply it'll sum things up nicely.. https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/thread.f_252822_0_collapsed_5__1.htmlso i'm in the process maybe by next year.. i'm planning on swaping out my projectors with hid ones... hopefully it'll be easy basically you want the best light output.. 4100-4300k the higher up the spectrum you lose light output but gain more blue/purple color.. cars that come stock with hid have that purple/blue..etc color due to the projector/shield.. just sticking in hid's well been there.. done that not happy with 6000k.. got more info on hid but.. also kinda hard to come by hid kits seeing as its now illegal for company's to sell https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/thread.f_182627_0_collapsed_5__1.html

hey i got the 6000k McCulloch in mines and i never had a problem with it. But due to bad installation, one of the ballast touched the chassis and shorted out so yea i had to shell out 120 for a new ballast. But the bulbs have held up and i use it everyday since i drive home at night. I think ive put over 700 hrs on them

answer as to what Eric said. i have tried 7000K HID conversion kit and got no near happy with it. it's all about the projectors, not the Ks that matters. to ppl that think their HID conversion kit (without Projector conversion) that rules the whole world, think again. HID conversion kit on the celica projector just isnt look right. It is brighter, yes, but it does not shine further. Sadly to say, my stock bulb can light up the road area same as a HID conversion kit. 4100K - 4300K is the brightest. anything above, will just make it blue and dimmer. by the way, eric, those valeo (sp) projectors are super hard to come by... damn it...

...by the way, Erick, those valeo (sp) projectors are super hard to come by... damn it... yah man they come all the way from Europe.. well the Euro audi's use them he still doesn't have any in stock huh ..maybe i should put the ones i have now in the celi first instead of my mom's camry Elec-FuYu is right about our projectors ..also note yes one can put in a HID bulb/kit into the stock housing or a stock halogen.. but the same does not hold true in reverse.. not that anyone would want to put halogen in a hid made projector ...for educational comparison i bought a OEM HID headlamp to compare with stock headlamps.. here's some pics/info to look at Difference of Stock vs HID Celica headlamp pictures https://celicahobby.com/ubbthrea...&PHPSESSID=if you want Alberto..it'll be costly but if you can try to find some used/new OEM HID headlamp housings.. Thats the easiest and legal way..i'm sure they'd fit .. i haven't had a chance to try out the one I have...yet

I want to purchase the new 2005 celica housing headlights with the painted interior that matches the car(white) will these housings include the OEM HID projector lenses? Will these fit on my 01 celica?

sorry if it was confusing a way to easily tell if a celi came stock with oem hid check the headlamp housing.. like i posted in that picture comparison... note the little holes.. they may make the colored ones with hid projectors.. not sure though.. i'll ask roxyracer if hers are hid since she said her car is fully loaded.. so maybe they changed the design of the oem hid headlamps to not have those holes ... so if they haven't changed the design then the ones pictured below are halogen..

i dont think the painted ones from stock have HID in them.
when they first came out, i checked the toyota site, they said the the colored housing will be avalible standard if buying the Tsunami version and HID will be an option and will not be able to come with a colored housing.
