Too bad the mechanism wasn't under the hood and you had some sort of pull lever like the actual hood lever. Then they would never be stolen and all you'd see were the two little bumps. They would lock into place like those though.
i guess you need to remove your factory hood latch as well - or you wouldn't be able to open your hood without someone holding these hoodpins open while you pull the lever.
If that is the case, then anyone can have access to your engine bay - since there isn't anyway to lock your hood down without the factory latch in place
