I saw an infomercial about this Torando air filter, that is added to any air box/intake and it give some major power numbers. Does anyone know if this is true???

i don't think that it would really give out those high power increases, but it might be good for a 3-4 HP increase. because it does give better air flow.

I saw that comercial too. they were claiming a 20 hp gain for like 70 bucks. sounds to good to be true.

I think it's proven on really powerful cars to give better emissions but for a celi most likely you'll just be gettin' a product with a good concept if ya know what I mean. I've seen electronic looking devices they sell called superchargers but it just looks like a oscilating fan connected by a 12v wire and pluged into the end of the intake. again "good concept" but not a huge difference for a performance product. I think the tornado does make maybe 2-4hp difference but not a noticable one such as a full c.a.i. replacement.

like any performance modification, you have to read the fine print, like with the tornado, they replace the air filter along with installing it, which adds to the numbers, prob replace sparkplugs, and there are some dyno tricks you can do to get higher numbers on the same car and same engine with no modifications. k&n filters claim a huge power increase, while that is somewhat true, it is against a baseline of a well used *read unserviceable* filter

i think its more of a fuel saver than a power gain. i wouldnt mind the extra mpg.

my friend bought it. he said that it doesn't really give you hp well at least that he felt but it does save you on gas. plus you can also put it with you cai at least on a honda not sure on celica. i might try it out just to see if it does give me better gas mileage.

This product provides absolutely no increase in power. It fits in your intake tube, and thus restricts air flow inwards. You might not feel any real power loss, but it is there. The reason the gas is saved is because it's restricting airflow, so your computer flows less fuel to meet the lower air amount present and keep the a/f ratio good. Don't waste your money on this piece of crap. I've heard of it actually getting sucked through the intake into a piston and messing the whole engine up.

You do get hp but it's a minimal amount only after 4500 rpms. But you don't save gas...
Those are just couple of people I asked that had it.
One was on an eclipse 2001 the other a honda accord 94 oh well they said it's great!!Also one of them fix the moving problem, the tornado has metal pieces that can be bend outward so the tornado can have a snug fit inside the air hose! Well guys just telling you what I have heard>...

Just be weary of these things. I hope they don't mess up anyone's motor.
