Well, you are gonna want ONE hellacious amp or get three separate ones to run the subs. But you ARE going to have to upgprade your charging system to run all that stuff. At the very least replace the stock battery with an audio battery, or an optima yellow top. With that much power running your alternator isn't going to be able to keep up, your headlights will be dimming and all that crap. I'm running 3 10's but i'm running a high output alternator, 2 batteries, and a 400 farad cap. Unless you don't care what happens to your alternator, b/c there's a good chance it's gonna fry if you try running a huge system off the stocker. I think it's only like 87 amps.

ok audiobahn is poo. there one of the worst audio brands you can get. im guess your going by how they look and thats why you picked them. well anyone can take tin foil and blue leds and place them allover. anyways since you dont know much about audio and audio is what i know most about. if you want subs look into re,dd,ed,ia,adire. i have a 12inch re xxx getting 1200 watts from a viper 1200.d amp. i dont have the sub powered nowheres near what it can take and thats because my windows are takeing a beating too much and my ears cant take it any louder.

You don't need an amp, you need a fucking arc welder. Why would anyone buy a sub with a 1000watt nominal rating? Its like buying the most inneficient speaker.

You don't need 3 subs in a Celi, hell you probably don't need two, I have 2 because I like the symmetry.

i have a 12 inch xxx thats getting 1500 watts and its ported so the box takes up the whole trunk so if you have 4 you must have sealed and stops them from getting as loaud as there soposed to. you should get 1 maybe 2 subs that can take 1500 watts or more rms and port them.

Any good sub should run in less than a 1 cubic foot sub box & sound tight & have good power handling. You should easily be able to fit 8 - 12" subs in a celi. Windows might be a problem though.

not when you go ported. i made my box the same size re recomends and it used 90% of my trunk. now if i would of went sealed then i could of used less room but its pointless to not go ported when you have the room.

your going to be close to 1k. Instead of Alpine Type S, get the Alpine Type R. 2 of those will run you about $250-300. Optima Yellow top is about $150. You don't need a new alternator. Just get a 1 farad cap. They are about $100. And to power the 2 Type R's you will need about a 600watt amp. which will run you about $400. You will be close to 1k.

IMO, 12's are the only subs worth buying. JL is good stuff. Get two of these & a kick ass amp: http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/12w7.html

I have 2 Infiniti Kappa Perfect 12's that are running at about 300watts nominal each using a JBL BP600 They are excellent sound quality in a sealed enclosure, very tight sound & tons of pound. thumbsup

Osiris, did you read what he said? he can't afford subs that are $300. His price range is like $100-150. As for websites... www.nexxon.com [nexxon.com] is the best to buy stuff. They have EVERY brand you can imagine at mostly discounted prices.

rolleyes wave

it would be nice to have the "best sub". Everybody has thier own opinion on what is the best. I mean he did state that he isn't gonna spend much on a sub, so why are you forcing the issue of a $250 sub? Alpine type S is like $100. that is his price range.

Just about anything i've heard is better than Alpine s12s! 12w3v2s are great all around subs. You get a good amp they're loud as hell and they hit hard, even though they're only 300 watts.

bs Negative! I agree that JL Audio makes some of the best subs i've ever heard. I also agree that 12s are great if you listen to music with heavy bass, like rap or hip hop. But what if you listen to other music as well, like rock or pop. Double bass pedal sounds are so quick, subs just can't keep up. The rolloff is too big. It booms at the first bass hit, but doesn't have enough time to recover for the second hit, so it comes out sounding weak and indistinguishable from the first. Its great if you want that BOOM BOOM rattling sound. But for tight, defined sound, can't go wrong with 10s. Ppl mostly get 12s for volume, but trust me, buying more 10s is well worth it. thumbsup

no not mt. mt is for spl only they have bad sq unless your gonna blast bass tones all day get the xxx its 405 shipped and a amp for it will be around 255 and you only need one. dont need a cap. dont ever buy yellow top because 150 is too much for a battery when wal-mat has the same for 60$ and you only need 2g wire kit that is 28$.

a wal-mart battery is not the same as an Optima yellow top. They are well worth the money and last twice as long as other batteries. The red top should be fine for your setup. Its about $120. I have the red top and it starts up better than when i first got the car.

and i dont have anything right now. im just learnin for the future. im gettin my car this summmer and im researching as much as possible so that when i get what i need for my car i dont regret what i bought.

I wouldn't get same brand everything. Alpine makes great headunits and thats about it. If you want good hitting bass, you need something a lot better. JL, RF, or Audiobahn are good choices. thumbsup

Audiobahn good? hahaha i needed a good laugh today. adire, re, ia, id, are the top names for subs. alpine makes good hu's there is a lot better but noone wants to pay the prices for better brands. as far as amps he needs to pick good subs first then give a price range. a figure out what kind of box he wants(make it because the already built ones suck). id go ported because the subs will be louder and sound better than seald. tune it about 30-35. needs components. i have boston pro 6.5 (340$) they are really awsome i could recomend other brands if needed.

That's because too many people run band pass boxes. Small sealed enclosures like mine not only handle very tight upper bass, but also do the 25HZ stuff well. A properly boxed 12 is the best, IMO. thumbsup
