Say NO to alpine amps & subs for that matter. Just buy a head unit from them.

I would go to crutchfield to look through the amps and see what power outputs they have. I know alpine had a good variety of amps...just look for a two channel one that has the most RMS wattage per channel your subs can handle at the ohms they are designed for...but don't get an amp more powerful than your subs or you are askin for trouble.

alpineusa.com also obviously has alpine products, but no MSRP...thats why i say crutchfield...plus crutchfield has sections to learn about car audio. I wouldn't recommend buying from crutchfield because they are really expensive compared to many sites...but they will give you all the customer support you could ask for. Your call.

I agree...expensive yes...but they're awesome...and IMO the name Alpine has the largest cool factor just because it's alpine...and it sounds like he's already made the decision thumbsup

I'm planning on upgrading to alpine component speakers this winter...i love their stuff

My friend just had an Alpine S 12 installed with a 200 watt monobloc amp, powered with an Alpine head unit. He doesn't listen to rap, but even on the nu-metal tracks, the bass is so weak its almost hard to notice.

I think S type is 100 watts handling. Get a monobloc with at least that much wattage, but try to get more. More headroom is better for your sub. You'll need RCA connectors to run from the head to the amp, then wire to go from the amp to your sub. If you haven't already wired the battery terminal, make sure you have an inline fuse so you don't wreck your system. Get a box for the sub, ofcourse. thumbsup

that depends on how the subs are wired to the amp.

2 4 ohm subs in parallel is a 2 ohm load to amplifier ( 1 ohm to each channel of a bridged amp), same as a dual 4 ohm sub wired in parallel. Most 2 or 4 channel amps won't do 2 ohms bridged, but most monoblocks can drive a 2 ohm load.

I have 2 10" Alpine type S in my car running off of a 400w Clarion mono block. they pump the bass very well. Dont hesitate to get Alpine. Try to get atleast 400w amp tho, no point in getting nice subs then underpowering them.
