Hey I just got done installing a authentic TRD spoiler off of an action package. The LED light had a lead with a socket. so I ran the lead inside the trunk and there was already a plug ran that was taped to the trunk latch machanisim. So I pluged up the lead to the plug, but the light isn't working. Am I missing something?

That isn't the right plug I believe. You have to go up to the top of the hatch, up by the "third" brake light, on the drivers side. I spliced into these two wires, that are behind the rubber grommett. I hope this helps.

I dont know, I dont know of anything else that plug could be used for, it was in the exact location it needed to be to plug up to the spoiler, and it fit perfectly. maybe I need to check fuses.

Actually, according to the manual for the TRD Spoiler install, that connector is supposed to be there for the spoiler LED.

Mine didn't work either.

So I routed the wire from the 3rd brake light through the interior of the hatch, and connected it to the connector that the old 3rd brake light on the roof was using.

It was hard to route it through the left inside of the hatch because there were already wires in there, and it's a tight fit.

So my friend brought some 75lb fishing line down, we routed that through the hatch, tied it onto the connector, and pulled it through the hatch to connect it to the other connector.

actually it is the right plug, you have to disconnect the hot wire from the top where the other brake light is, and plug it into the harness.

http://russ.angrypacket.com/howto/carstuff/trd-adjustable-spoiler/index.php?

follow the wiring instructions, there's a wire you have to undo and plug back into the main harness to get power at that other plug.
