Hi, i got my AEM cold air intake installed and theres one thing that it didnt do for me , it really messed up my throttle response. i double checked how i installed it and i did everything correctly, it laggs A LOT between the time it sucks in the air and shoots it out the exaust. when i have my celica in neutral and i when i want to give it a little rev, when i step on the gas pedal it sucks in the air but it seems like it is too much for the engine or it isnt getting enough, and it bogs down a lot angry any suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated. Im thinking about cleaning the MAF soon but i dont know! angry angry

I've been having problems with mine on and off as well... remedying the situation has only proven to be temporary

... therefore, I've decided to give up on it and get a proven cai with better gains and reliability - thumbsup

You're a moron.

Goodluck with the tenth grade, I hear they actually make you use a sort of sentence structure.

Sounds like the typical bogging you get from most CAIs. Your engine isn't getting enough gas because of the poor intake design messing up the MAFS readings. Three options from here:

1. Do this mod (eliminates bogging):
newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=127861

2. Pick up a TPR CAI (made specifically not to bog, more powerful than AEM). PM Easy_C to buy.

3. Pick up an Apexi Power FC and adjust the AF ratios to their proper levels.

Yes, out of all intakes, Injen has the most common occurances of bogging and CELs. It doesn't happen on every car, though. It's most likely a combination of variances in construction and the sensitivity level of your MAFS and ECU.

another thing you might wanna do is tighten the throttle cable. I did that and reset my ecu and it doesnt bog.

You tightened the throttle cable too much. Tightening it properly won't affect bogging at all. Tightening it too much will raise idle a bit, and basically bypass the Idle Air Control Valve till the ECU realizes it, then the ECU will lower your idle and negate any throttle cable tightening. You could also damage the throttle rotor, since it has a definite open and closed position. If you push the gas pedal too far, that will pull too hard on the throttle rotor, and it will bend.
