Manufacturers always quote bhp at the flywheel so why the fuck do you keep on about WHP. It just confuses matters!

These are only theoritical numbers and don't reflect true mph but gives good info to judge what your car's performance should be around. Keep in mind that the real world has many, many, many, many variables that a simple equation doesn't account for, so don't those numbers aren't exact like he mentioned, and stock odometers aren't very accurate to begin with, especially if you have changed anything having to do with tires sizes and rims. Good find though Veilside_300.
Now it's time to see who can get to the 69816 hp mark first.

My celica has 180 bhp. I can hit 140. You math is flawed. Furthermore, my celica could probably go faster than 140 if I wasn't limited by the fuel cut-off. 180 is not the actual crank horsepower of the Celica engine. How else would N/A Celicas dyno over 180 to the wheels alone? Actual engine power at the crank is likely over 200 hp. Most if not all car companies under-rate the output of their engines for legal reasons, and those who don't pay for it sooner or later. Case and point...The Cobra and RX-8 just to name a few. ok slidr, answer this: how many stock Celicas dyno over 180 whp? None. You missed my point. By simply plugging in the manufacturer's claimed HP rating, you will not get accurate readings. The Celica GTS does not have 180 horsepower. No way in hell that it could when stock ones put 160 to the wheels. The engine was obviously under-rated, like most engines are for legal reasons. What I mean is, without forced induction but other mods of course, it is possible to dyno over 180 horsepower to the front wheels, meaning that the Celica's horsepower rating is obviously greater than 180, but we can only speculate as to how much due to the fact that no one has tested the engine (at least to my knowledge) as to see what it actually generates at the crank, not the transmission. The reason I said this in the first place was because people were plugging in 140 and 180 horsepower for their cars, coming up with top speeds, and claiming them to be incorrect. There is no major flaw in the equation itself, other than the fact that no exact horsepower is known for our cars, and even if a number was constructed, not all engines generate the same horspower, even identical engines. But as some other have posted, there are some flaws.

Well we won't take the equation too seriously then. But I think even if it is a few horsepower out, it still gives you a rough guide of what speeds you can obtain.

Are cars weren't meant for the drag strip. I don't care for overdrive. What the hell is that? A button pushed on auto's for an extra gear? Most cars that I've driven have an overdrive other than manual and that's dating back some years fool. You didn't listen. Read again. The drag strip and top end speed have nothing to do with each other unless you are running an 8 second car, fool. Exactly my point. do YOU even know what your point was? I do and you are the one that got everyone to buy that DC header and went bragging about beating everyone in your GTS and your car's not running so shut up. I wonder why?

It doesn't get any more simple than that. However, I can and do it 140mph (AT least it reads that on the speedometer) On the highway all the time. It really doesn't take that long to get up there either. But, I do consistantly stop at 140mph EXACTLY...BAH! Must be fuel cutoff.
