I've been reading about the belt tensioner problems a lot, and started thinking about it. When mine started squeeling, I automatically thought belt tensioner just from what I had read on here. I took it to the dealership, told them the problem, and what I thought it was. Turned out all it needed was a new belt. You guys think the whole "belt tensioner gone bad" thing is just a scam for the dealerships to make money off of a longer install?

Generally dealers will try and rip you off, from what i've heard. I've never had to deal with it before.

its possible.. i mean we took my moms car for service to the dealership on her brakes.. they said it needed a new rotor and pads..

but yet we take it to some shop they say all is needed is just to change the pads.. so wouldn't a smaller shop who needs to make money say one needs to change the rotors if it was really needed seeing as they do need to make money.. wtf
