People not respecting Celicas should fornicate themselves with an iron stick.

I dont think hondas have that good of rep. Most hondas I see are pieces of shit. But if i had to give a reason i would say just because a lot more has been done with hondas than has ever been done with celica's. Engine swaps and builds are very common. Who here has ever seen a 3sgte or heavily built/ boosted celica on the street. Odds are not likely. Just because it has a lot more potential than our cars. But like i said most hondas i see are trash with fart cans and aluminum spoilers.

perhaps its just cause civics out number celica in terms of production edit...and so that means more people have them and do mod's perhaps...and bigger aftermarket.. market

Like lets say there is a car show and their gonna build a car like 80 percent of the time they have a civic build up. It is also Toyotas fought they dont support their only sportcars they just focuse on older people cars. Why do you think Scion was invented

I'd rather mod something that most people DON'T have - that way the final product will be personalized...

^^ agree with sultan especially now with end of the (celi domestically at least?) it makes seeing a modded celi even more like whoe what car was that ...a highly modified civic in any case rarity usualy has always meant more value.. take gold, diamonds, supras one sees a bunch of stocks civics and one stock celi.. the celi most definantly stands out.. the headlamps alone people love that they stick it on cars that aren't even a toyota

Civics a[re] durable, dependable, cost effective, well designed vehicles. Hondas are good cars. Absolutely. Get you from Point A to Point B. They're fuel efficient, very affordable, and they last a long time. They're not made for racing, so why would you need a better engine? Civic means "people." Its the peoples car, made for the general consumer. Why else would they continue to sell so well.

Like lets say there is a car show and their gonna build a car like 80 percent of the time they have a civic build up. It is also Toyotas fought they dont support their only sportcars they just focuse on older people cars. Why do you think Scion was invented Reason why ppl build up Civics is two fold. One, civics are affordable cars and everybody drives them, so aftermarket performance part companies have found their market. The reason that market exists is because, 2, civics with body kits look similar to the Nissan Skyline in Japan. Of course, the two are not matched in speed, but its looks that are important. The reason Toyota dropped their Celica and MR2 line is beyond me. Scion is NOT sportscar related. The Scion tC is marketed as a sportscar, but in reality, it is nothing more than another economy car with sleek looks, just like the Celica (which is also not that fast, to address your first post). Toyota focuses on Camrys and Corollas because thats what at least 70% of ppl walking into Toyota buy. Both cars have won numerous awards and much prestige year after year after year. Motor Trend, JD Power and Associates, Consumer Reports, on and on. This is the demand and when demand runs out or diminishes, the company focuses on their better selling product and either discontinues or introduces a new product to catch market attention (Scion). I hope this clarifies. Long response, I know.

IMO I think Toyota DOES A GREAT JOB IN SUPPORTING THERE SPORTSCARS OR ANY OF THRER CARS AND OR TRUCKS FOR THAT MATTER!!! THREE LETTERS TRD!!!! JUST BECASE THEY STOPED THE CELICA DOES NOT MEAN THEY DONT SUPPORT THERE CARS. Sorry for getting so upset but Toyota and there R/D effort that goes into there TRD parts are supiour to others!!!!

^no, they don't. go to a dealer and try to find a action pack for sale! you can't, they stop making them since late last year according to 3 dealers down here. you can't even buy the repair kit, it's not available. the only way is through online. i don't know how long you have been driving a toyota. one thing for sure is that, they do not support their own product...

I agree with ragingpaseo, dealers show no love unless you are puttin their kids thru college by buying a freakin 50g truck or lexus. when i got my first test drive with a celica, they only let me drive the gts auto. thats coo. but the guy didn't even know what the "down" button on the steering wheel meant!! i was getting a little perturbed. then i asked a simple question, what are the basic numbers for the car? Hp, Ftlb's, etc... and he looked at the sticker for about 2 mins, told me the gt's numbers, and went to deal with some pushy suit that wanted to test ride the gs400. seems the only love we get is from fellow Toyota fans.

Celica and MR2 were dropped from production due to nothing else other than poor sales. I believe there were less than 20K US Celi's sold in '02 and even less in '03...FOR WHATEVER REASON. Camrys, Solaras, Corollas - still selling like hotcakes. When supply exceeds demand, corporations take quick notice.

hondas are great cars. my first car I bought for myself was a 1996 honda accord ex 5 speed 2 dr <--(kind of hard to find). I didn't have any problems. I have had my toyota in the shop numerous times for warranty work and what not. Not very pleased with my first toyota experience (could be the fact that it was the first run of the 7th gen, and the first aluminum block engine). From what I have read in magazines the b series motors are to imports as the 350 is to domestics. All around good block to work from, and can go into virtually any type of honda or acura, and a butt-load of aftermarket parts. The really nice thing about civics is that you can buy a cheap hatchback, and have a very light platform to work with. Then you have your choice of putting in a (civic si)b16,(integra)b18,(CR-V)b20, or the (Prelude)h22. Then considering you have a large aftermarket to choose from you can build the block to accommodate forced induction. weeeeee I have seen dyno sheets from hatchback civics with 550 hp to the wheels. most of civics only weigh around what our celicas wheigh or less. Makes for a pretty cost effective drag car... Oh, by the way that civic I mention was listed on ebay a while back it was his street car . It had an h22 and turbo, I can't find the listing but if I do again I will post it

What are you guys talking about, civics are tight. I think people w/ celica's talk shit about civics but they'd never go up against one,cuz they'd get jacked. Celica's are just overpriced, and money doesnt equal quality. lol.. And plus, toyota just coppied the civic design, its all about the honda baby!

Just because you cant find it at the dealership does not mean Toyota's support for backing up there products suck. Take a look inside the TRD parts cataloge and my point will be proven and as i stated above i still stand by it

I think it is a supply and demand thing if it would be a demand then they would supply it as i see it TRD gives us the most props out of any after market company so far good THInG THEY DO SUPPORT THERE CARS or we would have a lot LESS aftermarket
