ok i know about the belt tensioner recall and stuff and i had mine replaced but when im driving, even when the cars warm this happens. the car is sitting in neutral for about 3-4 minutes like if im talking or something and it will idle normal but then it will sound like the radiator fan or something kicks in and it will make a squeaking sound. anyone have any idea what that could be?

Squeaking sound? Probably your fan belt. Yeah, the fan kicks in to keep your car cold when its just sitting there so heat doesn't build up. Mines quiet, so its probably the belt thats squealing.

Psst, Celicas have electic fans. No belts in the mix. It could possibly be one of your fans going bad, or just the load on the alternator slowing the engine down enough to make your drive belt squeal. BTW, the belt tensioner wasn't a recall, just a TSB. Recalls are for safety hazards, or problems that cause the car to run improperly. The tensioner is just an annoyance (I've run about 80K with a busted one).

^^^ I have gone the same and learned to deal with it. For me it's only bad in the mornings now. It won't really affect anything. Toyota said they saw nothing wrong like my fogged up headlights 15,000, 20,000, and 30,000 miles into my brand new Celica. I believed them. What a fool I am. To all the people with warranties. Get your Celica fixed no matter how you have to yell at the Toyota service department manager. Toyota should fix it regardless if under warranty. I wish I would have back then. Listen to me and get your Celica's fixed before it's too late and by then you will have to pay out of your own pocket and by then Toyota will be happy to fix anything you want.

well...my TOB is messed up. So i hear sqeaking everytime, everyday...its so damn annoying. Even when im crusing, i hear that shit. Well...my clutch is still good so im not gonna bother fixing it until i wear it out and needs replacing. Maybe it could be that? All i do is press slightly and it goes away, but then its not good. any one got any ideas to fix this without taking it apart?

No solution to the throwout bearing except replacing it. It's sealed, so you can't relube it. The problem is usually caused by riding the clutch too much, which heats it up and eventually causes it to seize.

Does it make a squeeking noise when you turn on your AC? If it does then it might be your AC compressor. Might also be your alternator bearing.
