ight about a month ago I was driving to my first day of classes at college when all of the sudden i look in my rear view mirror and see this cop comin at me fast as hell wit his cheeries on. He pulls me over and gives me a ticket for doing 47mph in a 25mph zone and a ticket for not having my license with me. When i get to class i start talkin to this girl who said that she just got pulled over on the same road bout 30 minutes before for the same thing. Now the road never had a speed limit sign posted where we got on and all the way till we got off. also its a two lane road so i figured it to be 40mph zone. Now i have a court date on december 1st. and if i dont get this ticket taken off completely i'm gonna have to sell the celica.you guys have any suggestions???

Calm down, I also got a ticket last year in November, similar case. I was doing 37 mph at a school zone. There were about 5-7 cars aroud me. The cop pulled me over and first thing he said "Do you know how fast you were going back there". I told him "I dont know, I was moving with the flow of traffic and you cant be looking all the time at your speedometer". He said " Did you see the children out side the school" thats why he stopped me. If kids have not been present, he was just going to give me a warning. I went to court and fought my ticket. I won because I did not admit my speed and I was going with the flow of traffic. Took me about 10-15 minutes to convince the judge (he was cool). I was suprised, and happy that cop lost. OK...So, did you admit to the cop you were doing 47mph? Where there cars around you? Where these cars averaging the same speed as you where? About the sign, no sign? All of these factors can make you win your case. Fight for it, go to court. If the cop does not show up then the judge will dismiss your case. If he does then you have the option of either contest the ticket or just pay the ticket (most of the time you just pay your ticket). You might have the luck and the cop will not show up. Anyways, I think you get a couple of months to pay off you ticket and go to traffic school. Good Luck!

take pictures (videa would be even better) of the whole ride from the exit to off-ramp where you got the ticket. this will prove that there are no speed limit signs and say that you are not familiar with the area and explain that you were just going along with traffic. oh--and call ahead and ask if there is a tv and vcr player in the courtroom. many times there are NOT and you may have to bring you own. do this--and i'm 99% certain you will get out of the ticket. good luck with everything

I don't know about NJ, but in CA if you're driving on a residential road, where there are driveways on the sides of the road, the speed limit is 25 mph whether it's posted or not just because that's the law. I don't know if you were in a reidential area or not, but that's something to consider. Good luck.
