I was in Hollywood... $2.89 for a gallon of premium. I'm not one of those people who bitch about gas prices... I mean, the difference between $1.50 and $2.50 a gallon is only $500 a year for the average person... that's nothing compared to the total ownership cost of a car. Still, I just remember the 89-cent prices when I started driving three years ago.

Try living in England mate On 8-Jun-04 the price of the unleaded petrol (gas) in Britain was 80.9p per litre (at Tesco, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk). Multiplying this figure by 0.038 gives a price of UK3.0742 per US gallon. Converting at a tourist exchange rate of US$1 = UK0.5655, as was applicable at the time, gives an equivalent price of about US$5.44 per US gallon. The national average self-service price for the lowest grade of unleaded petrol in the USA at around the same time was US$2.039 per US gallon. Now you know why huge V8's are like dinosaurs over here.. and why there are a lot more Celicas!!

I'm just looking forward to unloading my damn auto and getting a stick. 20 mpg seems a bit low for a Celica.
