Im hoping that you took all tha plastics out of the engine B4 painting . I also painted my plastics But I didn't wait B4 putting them back on. I would have to say that I let them dry for only about 1hr and a half. I did not get the paint smell though. What all did U paint? and what kind of paint did U use? Heres the job that I did in mine..

Yeah just let them dry outside. Spraycan smell doesn't go away for awhile If it doesn't go away try taking them off and see if the smell is still their when you turn up the heat. If the smell is still around could be coming from somewhere else. If the smell goes away when their off then their definitely your plastics. Hopefull all goes well and it goes away. I had a bad smell under my undercarriage when I first bought my car. Smelled like tar melting and got me dizzy but that is a totally different topic it went away with no worries. I figured it was the protective lining Toyota uses to coat under neat the car.

^^I started painting mine a couple days ago. The plastics are off the car,and have been off for 3 days. I just finished the fuse box cover. I am letting them dry for two days before I put them back on. I did 3 coats.
So all in all your looking at 3-4 days from taking them off, cleaning real good to painting and dry.

What type of paint did you use and is there a need to prime the plastic before painting them?

What type of paint did you use and is there a need to prime the plastic before painting them? I went to Wal-Mart. Good ole Wal-Mart. I bought 5 cans of Dupli-Color Import Auto Spray. I have a Absoulutely Red Celica. The paint is called Toyota Super Red II and matches pretty closely. Some people use Testors model paint. I heard that works really good too. I didn't prime just cleaned all the plastics real well.

Shouldn't be a problem right now though (since it's cool outside)
