In an enclosed area such as a garage ... and with the way our engines are built ... you can hear the values opening and closed, this does make a slight "ticking sound" for lack of a better description.

AS long as the ticking sound goes away completely when you drive, your probably fine.

I would just check all the fluids levels and then start you car and look under the hood to see if anything appeared loose or rubbing.

Good Luck grin

my car makes a ticking noise at idle to, it seems to go away right after I do an oil change but comes back within 1000 miles.

if you hear the ticking, get out of your car and quickly try to find the source before it stops.

I dont have a ticking problem, i have a RATTLING problem. Something on my hatch, driver side door handle, and passenger door storage bin rattles. It drives me NUTS!

i never get that tick even after running hard or for long distances. i use mobil 1 full synthetic. I think it's the best oil out there.

i use mobile 1 too (just recently switched to royal purple)...and i still get ticking noises at idle...some say it's valve chatter...one day (if i ever find a competant toyo mechanic) i'll have someone go check on my vales and maybe adjust the shims or something...
