need some help regarding exhausts, i don't know much about them.
i am thinking of purchasing some sort of exhaust system. (sorry if my lingo on this subject is wrong ). i want something very affordable, but high quality with a deep sound (i.e. trd). none of the high pitched whining sounds.
i don't think i wish to spend $600 (or however much they cost) for the real trd exhausts. is it possible my body shop can do something to my pipes to produce a fairly louder than stock, deep roar?
my body shop wanted to sell me a magnaflow exhaust for $90 canadian. any good?
Go with the Tanabe super racing medallion. It has a very good sound, nice and low, not ricey sound. I got it for $510 at www.modacar.com [modacar.com] Since you live in Canada, I don't know price wise. It's a good exhaust though.
I DID ALL OF THE RESEARCH BEFORE I BOUGHT MINE. I CHECKED WITH THE tURBO MAGAZINE REPORT, THEN SURVEYED MEMBERS HERE AS WELL AS OTHER BOARDS AND THEN JUST CALLED AROUND AND FORUND OUT .. TRD IS THE BEST AND YET IT'S NOT TOO LOUD YET REAL THROATY SOUND, TOUGH YET STEALTH LIKE. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DESICION.
TRD extended Exhaust, S2000 Antenna: MAN I LOVE THIS CAR!!!
I have heard that the TRD and the Tanabe Super Racing Medallion exhausts add about the same amount of horsepower and only a 1 lb. difference in torque. I also heard that the Tanabe sounds a hell of a lot better than the TRD, I am going to buy the Tanabe within the next month or two. Godd luck with what you decide, but if you want a nice sound to go with a nice horsepower gain, go with the Tanabe, that's just my opinion. Later

just got my tanabe super race medallion from afsmotorsports.com for 435.00 shipped and everything. comes with a silencer in case you decide you want it quiet one night.
very nice sounding...much nicer than trd sound wise. performance wise, trd or tanabe...either one is great. but if you want the best sound...go with tanabe.

thanks silver. i just can't justify spending almost 1 grand canadian for a nice sound. so instead i'm pondering going custom. my friend can do it for 150 canadian and get a more or less same sound
BUT, They ran a special on newcelica.org for 435.00. What you do is call Shawn at afsmotorsports, and tell him you saw the buy on newcelica.org, and you want to order one for 435.00. That's what you have to do. Here is his info.
Trust me, I ordered from him and you will definitely be pleased. Let me know if I can help out anymore.

I have Greddy Evo on my 02 GTS, I love it, It looks tougher than TRD and doesnt stick out as much as Tanabe,(my opinion) It sound really deep, nothing high pitch...
Hey redracer...have you seen the tanabe super racing medallion on a celica? How much does it stick out? And was it on the stock bumper or with a bodykit? Because I am buying a body kit when I buy the tanabe, and I heard that it fits real good with an aftermarket bodykit. Thanks man.
