What engine mods are gonna lower the celi's fuel mpg...? I want to put a cai and exhaust.. is this going to lower my mpg drastically? Cause part of the reason i got my celi was fuel economy.. I traded a Toy Tundra, which i got only 16mpg on it.. and I work kinda far post up some numbers if you can. Thanks ahead of time.

I could be wrong but i dont believe that minor upgrades like i/e will drastically lower your MPG. i have both on my civic and i still get 20+ mpg. dont know any specific numbers but id say go ahead and get the mods

CAI and exhaust should INCREASE your mileage, as long as you don't change your driving habits. Makes the motor more efficient.

they increase mpg because it takes away some engine restriction as long as your driving normally but if you pushin it, it will waste more gas because ur gettin more performance out of it

Ill be the first to say they'll go down. Once you hear the intake and the exhaust for the first time ur gonna wanna keep the RPMs up all the time, trust me, you'll wanna hear it from the time you start it till you turn it off

If you are modifying your car you shouldn't be worrying about that, it well go down but it's minor. Turboing the car will make it drop but it's minimall compared to the performance boost. IMO mpg shouldn't even be an issue if you like to drive your car.

The only mod that will lower MPG is removing the butterfly valve from your air intake box. Don't ask me why this happens. It has to do with constricting airflow. It you put VTEC stickers or other crap vinyl decals and stuff on your car, you will lower MPG...and respect from non-ricers.

HP=GASOLINE
If you do enough mods to actually increase your horsepower, your gas mileage will be reduced accordingly.

i got around 350-360miles on a full tank, that's 4hrs on the interstate/highway driving 80+mph..so that's pretty darn good..not as good as my last civic which gets over 400miles on a full tank..but good enuf for me..

As for what you get with other mods...why doesn't someone post up their average MPG with and without a CAI? We can debate back and forth forever on whether it will increase engine efficiency or require more gas, but there's only one sure way to know.
