Celica Forums General Discussion General Almost got a Felony...

So earlier today i went to meet up with jerry (PoweredByRice) to buy his RMM wing from him. I started to drive home and there was a Federal Way police officer following me for a little bit of the way home. He then turned off the road and went somewhere. im driving a little further down the road going the speed limit and what not. 10 minutes later theres a state trooper that barrels out of a turn right behind me and pulls me over. he was a dick and asked for all my info. brought out a piece of paper and read everything to me about how my reflective mirrored tint is illegal and how it isnt a traffic infraction but its a felony. A felony where my car will be impounded and i will be sent to jail for 90 days. I was tripping and he asked if i knew about that law..obvously i said i didnt and ended up giving me a warning. He then assured me if he sees me again on the road with this tint that i will be arrested.


Cliff Notes:

Bought RMM wing. On the way home was followed by a cop. Then later pulled over by a cop threatend to be put in jail for a felony because of my mirrored tint. Now im getten the tint replaced with legal 35 %.

Look it up in the vehicle code that seems a bit too much I could see just a ticket but a felony damn thats too much. By the way glad you got off ok.

He did show me proof, i guess its a felony because i could have a gun pointed at him and he couldnt see in at all or what not. He pulled out a brochure all about illegal window tinting, and what punishments could happen by this. its only a felony on mirrored reflective tints.

Shitty thing is im forced (parents) to get new tint now. I was saving for a break job that i NEEEEED!

Relfective tint is illegal here as well. If your car didn't come with reflective tint like a Lexus I reccomend not putting it on. Sorry to hear what happened hopefully your Rod Millen Wing was worth the trip.

you would think that a federal officer would have something better to do with his time...and a state trooper would be patrolling for other things

the solution for tint:
ask a doctor to write a note saying that you have fucked up eyes and you need tint to prevent extra glare of lights from outside. keep the note in ur car and everytime you get pulled over show it to them. they wont be able to do anything.
im sorry, this might be a bad idea, but its worst getting ticketed for something stupid once every two weeks.

If he does that he also might not be allowed to drive at night.

you should of asked him for this tint calibration license. these things need to be updated every year or so i've heard. If he doesnt have it, he cant do jack.

hmm do 5% in the back and 15% or 20% in the front... I have the 15 and 5 % on my celica and I never gotten fucked with.

A felony for reflective tint. A felony is running from police or robbing a liquor store, not having something on your car thats not legal. What a loud of crap!
