I've heard this term used many times on this site, and I was wondering what exactly it is. I've heard it's a boost of speed that kicks in at like 6200 rpms or somethin', is this true? also, if this is the case, can you get this "lift" out of an automatic '90 celica gt? I mean if you shifted it down so it wouldn't upshift, into L or 2 or turning the overdrive off, could this be accomplished in a '90 or is it something specific to the newer celicas? also I think the 5th gen gt's redline at 6000, so wouldn't pushing it to 6200 be unhealthy for it? or is it's lift at slightly lower rpms or what? any help would be appreciated.
