hEy GuYs I wAnt A tUrBo...

What is the best one to get for under $1k? I want at least 300 whp. I already have an intake and exhaust, so I'm like 80 hp away. Would a supercharger get me better gains? Could I install it myself? I got an "A" in shop class, so I think I could.

I got the car last night and decided it's too slow. I'm 18 and the 'rents pay for mods. I have no idea what things actually cost or that someone on the boards might have asked this question before. Help!

aright aright you proved ur point, were all stupid for asking about turbos and none of us will be able to afford 1 netime soon, but dont hate us for loving our cars man. yeah its annoying and i regret posting 1 of those turbo posts, but you dont need to shoot anyone down for being interested.

In reality. . . Turbo kits (I think xs-engineering is the only one for the gts) cost roughly $5000.00. If you don't know at least that much you should probably have a professional install it for you. With that kit, expect about 240-250 whp. If you want 300 whp, you're looking at having to go with forged turbo pistons, connecting rods, etc. etc. not to mention a custom turbo, which can be hazardous if you don't know what you're doing. But you should be fine. . . you got an "A" in shop class.

sorry to say that an intake and exhaust will not give your car 220whp because you say ur only 80 away from 300whp Save up for the turbo

If i have to saw anyting though. 300whp will be a lot more than 1k. The pistons and rods that you'll need to get that high will be more than 1k... Do some more resaerch "SEARCH" button. Than ask us more about turbo's . I know your new and I don't mean to be mean but really...

Hell if your rents are plaing for everything. just ahve them put down like 10k and you'll have one fast car... I would plan on for you getting the C2Gas GTS kit when it comes out. They will make sure you don't blow your-srlf up.. "thank god for set fuel bars"

I was alittle confused with your post.. cause I saw that you posted in another Turbo thread and you knew what you were saying... Silly.. Well you got me.. But still Do you know where I coming from... Frustration with stupid posts?

how about an faq for this particular forum? That way anything having to do with the classic:
"Which intake should I get"
"how do I turbo"
"why is my car slow?"
etc. will all be in one place so we can all just point to it and leave it at that.

if you have a gts, you already have turbo silly!!! a toyota salesman told me a few months back "yea, if you get the gts , it has a turbo on it." so there ya go.. you would be wasting your money. cause it obviously already has one.
