Celica Forums General Discussion General help quick! will this be cover under warranty?

My car is a 2000 celica gts w/ 38,000 mileages. I know 2000-02 celica have been known to have sunroof peeling. Anyway, I was looking at warranty info and find out that they over (rust) for 60months with unlimited mileages. Well, my sunroof rust really bad and the peeling is soo terrible. I was wondering if they will cover this under (rust) warranty??? Here are some pix! thank guys!!!

its rust...they have to cover it...and its not just for 60 months...its for the lifetime of the vehicle from what I understand...Unlimited mileage...either way...in your situation tell them that your sunroof has rust around it and that you would like them to address it per the warranty information

Wow!...When i bought my Van, it came with this device for anti-corrosion protection and it work's had the van since 2000 and no rust yet!...Maybe you should invest in one of those for your celica!

Bring my car to superior toyota today and they said since the 3yrs/36.000miles warrnty is over they will not cover it. The rust warranty is for the body of the car only, so since my sunroof is not the body of the car i'm out of luck. I call corp hotlines today to complaint about my toyota denied my warranty and they gave this case to the customer relation manager at that dealership. Hope they'll gave me a discount or replace it free.

yeah i love sunroof too. The guy at the dealership was really nice to me saying they'll do something about it. half an hour later he call me saying it will not be cover told him i'll call corp and turn off the phone. how the customer relation is involved hopefully they'll do something for me

hehe I got good and bad new. They just call me back saying they'll cover it under good-well warranty because my 3months/36,000miles warranty is over 1 and half year ago , but the bad new is I have to pay $340 I guess it's labor cost well, $340 for a replacement of something over $900 is fine with me

its too bad you dont live out here bud, i read this post friday and showed my service manager the picture , he said they could warranty that out here in michigan. But the goodwill situation is still pretty good, after 3/36 he said its up to the dealership if its something toyota will pay for. He said yours looks like it could be covered
