I was wondering if they can legally void my warranty by having an Injen CAI? I had it on the car for a while, sucked in some water during a flood, took them 4 months to get my car back to me, put the intake back on when they returned it, had it for 4 days, am now having some engine noises. Whew! That was a long sentence! Anyway, I call last night, and one of the ladies there said they might void my warranty cause of the intake. Is there any legal document out there that anyone knows of to protect me? I've heard of some M...something Warranty Act, or something like that. Any help would be appreciated.

its up to the dealership pretty much if there going to warranty that , if you suck water and it causes hydro-lock because it was drawn through your "aftermarket" intake... the dealership can make the call ... be nice to them!

If toyota installed and did not mention anything about it voiding your warranty, they have to honor it. If they didn't put it on, they kinda have you by the balls. I'd be very nice. grin

Magnuson act or something. They cant void your warranty unless something goes wrong. And if something goes wrong, they have to prove it was the intake (or whatever mod) that caused it.

I didnt read all what you wrote the first time. Since the intake basically caused the problem I dont think your gonna have much luck.

If your aftermarket intake sucked up a bunch of water which caused you engine to die, they're not going to do it under warranty.

They dont have to warantee your car because your aftermarket part is what caused the problem.

If the FIND OUT that you sucked water in through the intake, then yeah...you're fucked...if you return it back to stock form and give it back to them, telling them that you have problems still and they need to go over their previous work again...then you MIGHT get away with it
