Celica= FWD 4cylinder VVTi-L very sporty but kinda low on power.

In the 80s the supra and celica were the same car. thumbsup

Not all Supras are TT or even turbo'd at all for that matter. All inline Six's though

N/A Supra is not as fast as the GTS off the line due to its weight.

Supra costs a lot of money, when and after they were released.

I think he's probably confused the Celica Supra, Supra and Celica.

yeah but in the end, after you've added all the engin mods and all, aren't both cars the same, but the Celica still has the better handling? And no I didn't get confused, just wanted to know, in case the new supras are coming out and I want to get the new one instead. The only thing I don't like about the newest supra ('93?) is the stock look, not as sleek and mean looking as the celica. Although I don't doubt a good body kit would change that. I know I just made a bunch of enemies by dissing the supra, lol

what I mean is once you've tuned you're engine for best performance and added all the HP you can (is there a limit?). Can't one car, be made exactly like another without changing the engine?

Also, how come this site is almost always down? I get this message just about everytime I try to do something on it:

This thread is like asking if you can mod a BMW 325i to be the same as a BMW Z3.

Yes it can. When come to modification, three things that will limit you, i.e. money, law of physics and state law. (well, if you want to keep the car street legal) If you have money and knowhow, there is no problem making 320hp out of 2ZZ-GE. However, I really doubt that you can catch up with Supra unless it is stock. 2JZ-GTE will have more advantage on torque. Supra is RWD, it has more advantage on straight line. Forget the auto-x. People don't buy Supra for that. And very few supras these days are still stock. It is so true that people spend arm and leg buying a Supra and spend few grands to bring it up to 500+hp. It is also true that you can spends not many grands buying a Celica and spend arm and leg to bring it to 500+hp.

the thing about the supra is the wheel spin at launch. that's why even boosted at 600hp they get crappy times because they spend half of it in the line...LOL. but once they are going...they fly.

apparently this is what a supra can do when they get the wheels to hook up immediately...
