I'm looking at buying the 5Zigen FN01R-C rims and was wondering if 225/40 on a 18x7.5 rim would be best or do I need to get 215/35? Does anyone know how many miles I would get out of a 225/40 or 215/35 tire? Also are there any negative things about this rim? Thanks!

well if i were you i'd go with 17's but i'm not so here goes and read carefully. stick with 40's it might rub but you'll be able to have a softer ride and have less chances of bending the rims. for the front go with 225/40 in front and 215/40 in rear, but keep the rims the same size for front and back. the reason for that is in front your tires will be more square and have more grip, the rear will be slightly rounded and break away easier for less understeer.

just keep them the same- 225/40/18. 225/35/18 might be too little rubber. what color you getting? ive got the same rim in hyperblack on the way...nice choice

Are you sure the 18's will rub? I see a lot of people with 18's and theirs don't rub..is this rim different?

i'm not sure i have 16's, prob. won't. check too make sure you get the right offset i think +35 should do

the 18"x7.5" should be in a +35 offset

i have these wheels in bronze with no problems. 18's lowered with gold line springs.

I would go with 17's also, but a great looking wheel, lighter weight, and very strong. You won't bend a wheel with the FN01R-C. Keep all 4 tires the same regardless. Don't change that. Remember that fact.
I'm running 215 40 on a 17" so I would guess the next jump would be 225 40 or 35 on a 18" or wider.
Curb rash is your only real problem with 18's and those wheels.
15,000-30,000 miles on the tires if you drive hard, but not fast all the time regardless of the tire and compound unless R rated.

I have driven then to hell and back. The finish is still straight from the factory and the wheels are very strong, not bent ever. I believe the are the best bang for the buck. I prefer Volks, but not my car anymore.

Will the curb rash be from them being lower profile tires so there is more potential to hit rim or is it because they actually stick out farther? I don't park on or near curbs so I'm not too worried about hitting the curb, but if they stick out father then that wouldn't be good.

What kind of tires for 15-30k miles? I would think the tires would wear out between 15-20k for 18"'s on 225/40's.
