Kenwood DDX7015

I was hoping someone would be able to help me out regarding whether or not the above mentioned head unit requires a special harness or filler.

This picture has just a standard install:

This one has a custom install:

While this one also has a standard install (I can see spaces that would require a filler):

Does anyone know what you need to install? If a special/custom part is necessary, does anyone know where to buy it or order it? Thanks guys.

What exactly does double din mean? I have an aftermarket HU in a split din currently. Would I need to put the old din back in first? Or does it just fit in the preexisting hole that would be left? I apologize for my ignorance, but I honestly have no clue.

Thanks again.

If I just get a double din dash kit, will it fit or will there be spaces on the sides? Do I need special wires for this HU in particular or can I use my preexisting aftermarked wires? Thanks again everyone.

the regular aftermarket headunits are single din. the small ones. double dins are the bigger ones. on a side note, i'm looking for a double din head unit in red. anyone know a good place to find besides crutchfield?

If I put the HU in a double din (after trimming), how flush would it be? In the 3rd set of pics, it looks like there are spaces, but is that because a kit wasn't installed Thanks.

hey man i got the ddx7015 in my celica, and ive left the opening around the unit cause they dont yet have a double din kit designed for the celica. I suggest making it custom, that is what im doing with mine. Do it yourself or go to a specialist.

Do you have pics of what it looks like w/o a kit? How many kits are you making? Thanks.

I don't think the Kenwood (double din) would fit behind a JDM console.

double din is a HU that would fill the 2 spaces available in the celica..but an double din will cause the problem everyone is encountering..before getting the kenwood ddx7025 i used to have pioneer4400;there was with it the double din dash kit..i think the double din dash kit comes with pioneer double din..i'll check it for you but you can always ask people dealing with pioneer..

well i dont have any pics, but without the kit it looks just like the pic you got shown here, you know..the unit without a frame, also your not goin to beable to use the one that came with the unit since the middle whatever you call it dash part will not fit over it. Well i havnt started on making the kit yet, im still trying to figure out my CEL problem after my CAI install, (one problem at a Time) but ill let you know when i do just check back.COOL?

oh yeah i dont think the ddx7015 will fit behind the jdm, im not for shure but if you think about it, the system actually sticks out of the console instead of being flush with it, also think about the angle adjustment features for the HU and the touch buttom features on the sides, see what im saying?

The First 2 pictures are from my car.

I didn't have to buy a filler.

The radio fits perfectly.

But i think that the celica in Europe (i'm from Belgium) has these fillers standard in the car.

Every celica i already have seen (inBelgium, Netherlands, Germany) has these fillers.

Can you buy those, or is it custom?

if you are going to buy from crutchfield, don't it's the same price with do discount at any independent stereo shop. get any celica dash kit and modify it your self or take it to a respectable shop.
