take it to a good shop, and have them find the problem and fix it... this isn't something you want to mess with for too long

bro
i had the same problem at about 60k and asked the dealer and they said that it was normal for the celica to consume about 1qt of oil every 2k. but mine was consuming about 2qt and then i ended up burning a crank bearing. it was under warranty so i got another engine but i have also been through 3 trannys its bullpoo but now i am stuck with the damn thing cause im over the 100k now but ive been to the shop somany times that i get the work order my self and then drive up to the mechanics and hang with them while they work on my car. and then when its done they let me get the keys my self and go into their lot and get the car so i dont have to wait for the valet guys to get it. its kinda funny but at the same time bull poo. I still love the car but these problems have eaten away my trust in toyota. oh and 3 stock cd players and two catalitic converters

Another possibility could be that 1 of your rings are stuck. I've been noticing considerable amounts of oil that's being consumed every 2k miles also. I put some seafoam in my oil and the oil consumption problem seems to be gone. You got nothing to lose, I'd try seafoam. Hope this helps a little thumbsup

All cars consume oil. especially if your using synthetic itll burn it up. hence the reason to check your oil about once a week. kinda like the new BMW M5 the dealers tell the owners to watch the oil levels since it bruns oil crazy.

i can answer ur question about if driving it hard consumes that much oil.
if you think ur oil is dissapearing somehow, first you gotta find out if you burning it or leaking it. leaking it will be obvious. if its burning it, you put a heavier oil and itll work better.

i dont know about the seafoam but i tell you about oil.
since you use synthetic, im assuming you using 5w-30. try a grade thicker. if that doesnt work, try a grade thicker. try until you find which grade is the best and stops ur motor burning oil or wutever it does.
good luck and let us know
