Any pics on how to take apart the clock to get to this bulb. I know i cna use film but wondering what film woudl be needed to tunr it blue or white fomr orange. i have seen the install form on here but it is for the green stock clock, so the combinations of colored films woudl tno affect the orange clock the same way.

you can't change the color of the 03+ clocks... if you take it apart, you will notice that the plastic piece is AMBER and the clock lights up a light blue...it looks amber due to the clear plastic.

^^ i dont know where the link is but once you take it the plastic front off your passengers seat belt guy will be broken permanently. they havent created a clear replacement piece for that amber plastic in front so what the guy did was just left it off and paint the inside. too much trouble imo

i know, i was jsut curious if it coudl be done but only if it was easy which this does not seem to be. I am going to buy a #74 led bulb for my cig lighter light, does anyone know if i can jsut replace the bulbs in the ac gauges as well or is that an led or somehting? If it is to hard i am jsut ogint to get a blue cold cathode and put it behind there.

I think you might be better off with just the neon behind there for the ac lights. I havent done it personally but when I saw people talking about it they acted like that was the way to do it

Courtesy of Tater https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/thread.f_1870216506_0_collapsed_2__1.htmli know, i was jsut curious if it coudl be done but only if it was easy which this does not seem to be. If it is to hard i am jsut ogint to get a blue cold cathode and put it behind there. The plastic on the center console is tinted orange, so the green the comes through is changed to an orange color. If you use film, make sure its pressed flat against the LED display or it will blur the display. Use the film for your cig lighter, its SO easy, it doesn't require a guide. Use the film to cover the bulbs on your A/C, but remember to cut the bulb covers off first! I haven't seen CCFL lights shorter than 12 in, so good luck fitting that in. I'm looking for Optx ultra minis to do it cause I fucked up my A/C board. I was thinking of doing an install guide for the clock colors cause ppl were requesting it earlier. Just say the word and its yours.

thansk sanch and slvceli but thsoe are the forms i was referring to earlier. I was curious aobut what film colors woudl cahnge my oragne clock to blue or white. if you knwo waht arrangemwent of colors and hoe many woudl do this. As for the ac you cna get cold cathodes in 4 6 and 12's on ebay and on the site given in the ccfl floor neon install. I ordered the led bulb replacemnt for hte cig lighter jsut so it comes out right. Still lookinf for a mod to take apart the cig lgither. I figured i cna jsut take off hte bolt on the back but wanted ot amke sure. Thasnk everyone for your interest and helpping me out. Let you klnwo hgow it turn otu if i ever figure this out.

I cant sodder so thats out Is there a bulb in there, or waht kind color film can i use to change orange to eiather white or blue??? You can only make the clock blue using the 00-02 green clock. The LCD display in all years of the Celica is very bright light blue when the outer lens is removed. On the 00-02, Toyota uses a raw umber shaded lens to produce the green illumination and on the 03-05, they use a ruby shaded lens to produce the orange illumination. If you are shooting for a light blue clock, use an 00-02 green clock and apply a purple cellophane filter over the segmented LCD and be sure to pull the green wire from the clock plug to disable the dimming function when the lights are on. To obtain a medium blue illumination, layer a blue cellophane filter over a purple filter. Good luck. BTW, I have an 00-02 green clock for sale if youre interested and I will even put the filters in it to make it blue for you. $35 shipped takes it.

Damn i shoudl ahve started a red theme earlier To change the green clock to white, you need light pink film and quite a few layers. A combination of blue and purple films will give you a blue color with a stock green clock. The install guide I was talking about was for taking apart the clock and putting film in. Getting the desired color is up to you. I have an 04, so my clock is stock orange. If you still want it Dan, let me know.

I want to change my '03 orange clock too but I like my little seatbelt guy. I even named him because he's on all the time when I have my purse or junk sitting in the seat. I wouldn't want to kill Fred.
